Don't let the Disney name or title scare you away. This is definitely one of the most suprisingly fun Playstation games I have ever played. Play modes are similar to most racing games. The game's adventure mode is great. The Disney World Fireworks Magic Machine has been blown into pieces and you have to race as one of the game's 10 Characters (including Chip, Dale, and Jiminy Cricket) to find the pieces of the fireworks machine. You can use weapons such as acorns, frog spells, and teacups to subdue your rivals on the way to victory. The thirteen tracks of the game include classics such as Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Carribbean as well as the lastest attractions such as the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Test Track, and Countdown to Extiction (called Dinosaur in the game). The tracks are probably some of the most impressive looking racing courses on the Playstation. Most tracks are a near copy of the real thing. Each course is extremely long and filled with tons of shortcuts and hidden passages. Splash Mountain's course has the 5-story drop, Pirates of the Carribean has accurately modeled scenes from the real thing IN THE CORRECT SPOTS. The Tommorrowland Speedway course even includes breathtaking views of monorail tracks, the Cinderella Castle, and the off-property Contemporary resort hotel. The sound is also spectacular. Yes, there are the cartoonish sound effects, but these are cancelled out by the crisp, clear authentic ride music and character voices in the game. Unlike Crash Team Racing, each racer does not have their own custom vehicle. Rather, each course has it's own vehicle modeled on authentic ride vehicles. On Splash Mountain, you race logs. At Blizzard Beach snowmobiles are used, and Big Thunder Mountain uses mine trains. A couple things are lacking from the game. First, most of the characters are original Disney characters such as Amanda Sparkle. A roster of characters from the rides would have been better. Second, in the Vs. mode you can only race two players, not 4 like in CTR. Third, There is no standard arcade-type mode. To race against a full slate of opponents, you must use the Adventure mode. Overall, this title gives CTR a run for its money. If you are a Disney fan, this is a must own.

The programmers on this game REALLY did their homework before producing it! The level of detail is extraordinary, and the game is a fun challenge. Each "attraction" that you race through has actual scenes from its "real life" counterpart. It's hard to describe how fun it is to see ACTUAL pieces of Disney World attractions go flying by! Many times, I have deliberately lost races, just to explore the track! I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves Disney Parks! It is a BLAST!

If you are a Disneyland or Disneyworld fan this game is a must have. The digital rendering is incredible and actual attraction soundtracks have been place right into the game. Choose from one of 11 racers and start your engines! You literally feel like your racing through The Haunted Mansion,Pirates, Splash Mountain and more! The level of detail in the attractions is what blew me away! I can't say enough about this game except get it!

The game itself is extremely fun, especially if you are a Disney fan. It's a good overall racing game for the non-Disney fan as well. There are a few issues with the controls being a little awkward in spots, but not enough to ruin the enjoyment of the game. There are also a minor issue with the graphics when you are right next to a wall, but again, not enough to take away from the overall enjoyment of the game. I agree with others that the inclusion of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, et al., would have made this game almost perfect. I guess we'll just have to wait for WDW Magic Racing Tour 2!

If you're looking for a fun cart-type racer that captures the spirit of the Disney parks, this is the game you've been waiting for. In the spirit of Crash Team Racing and Mario Cart, you race around a nice selection of tracks which are based on rides in the park, picking up powerups as you go. The tracks are well designed, and include music from the actual rides. One big disappointment with the game however was the fact that the characters you choose to be when you race are for the most part obscure Disney characters. The only well-known characters are Chip & Dale and Jiminy Cricket. Lesser known characters to choose from include Bruno Biggs, Amanda Sparkle, Baron Karlott, Polly Roger, and 6 other equally unknowns. I think it would have added so much more to the atmosphere of the game if Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and some of the other more popular characters would have been included. It doesn't make sense that they weren't, unless of course the licensing costs to obtain them were too high. I would have given this game 5 stars if they had been, because the game has a rather generic feel without them. I do recommend the game to Disney and cart racing fans however. It's a lot of fun, and except for the huge omission of mainstream Disney characters, kids of all ages should love it.

My son loves this game. His favorite is the Haunted Mansion. This is not just for kids. My husband and 13 year old daughter enjoy playing, too. It's a nice family activity.

Do * NOT* mistake this for a kids game! This is a game that is fun for everyone. Magical Racing is easily the BEST cart racer I have played on the Playstation. I haven't had so much fun with a racing game in quite sometime. The tracks are well thought out and fans of Disneyland will love racing their favorite rides. The controls are really tight. This is one game where your time will be spent actually racing rather than peeling yourself from the walls surrounding the track. Some of the turns are extremely sharp so be sure to make your vehicle "hop" so you can make the turn while in the air. Once you have that figured out the rest is smooth sailing. If all games where put together this well you'd never think twice about parting with your money!***ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC***

This is a wonderful racing game that young and old alike will be playing for hours! The sounds, music and graphics are well-done,and I like the story about having to get pieces to put the fireworks machine back together. The courses are hard at first, but with enough practice, they'll become easy!It would of been better if familiar characters like Mickey Mouse,Peter Pan,Mad Hatter, etc. were included. Let's hope they make a sequel to this fun game!

If you love Disney World and you love action race games, then this is the game for you! It's fun for the whole family - maybe a little above the skill level of most littler ones though (3-5). Fast paced fun action with a great replication of Walt Disney World! Well worth the $$ - I bought it on the advice of the first reviewer - I suggest you read that one and do the same!
