A Pricey Suprise,

I must start by saying that I paid $50.00 at Linens-n-Things for the castle by price matching and a coupon so I did not pay full price for this toy (a good thing at that). My 3 yr old daughter wanted this soooo very badly for her birthday so of course the little princess got her princess castle. While I was impressed with the beautiful detail of the castle itself I was suprised with the size. The castle itself appears to be a good size but the inside is small and really there is no room to play with the dolls. My daughter has had it for 3 days and really has not played all that much with it. Santa is bringing her the loving family twin dollhouse for x-mas and that I think she will enjoy more since there is all the accesories that you can put inside the house and can actually play inside the house with the dolls P.S. THe carraige that you can buy seperatly (which she also got) the horse does not stand up by itself!

I think this toy is overpriced because it is too small. It should be like $40.00. That is all.

My seven-year-old was very excited to receive this castle for Christmas. She loves it - though it didn't quite meet her expectations after seeing the TV commercials. There is very little actual play area, Cinderella's bedroom at the top of the stairs is the only real room in the castle, and even it is very small. The dolls don't actually fit at the top of the stairs or in the room when the bed is pulled down, so they have to sort of hover rather than walking. The downstairs is mostly the front door. There is a small parlor/fireplace area, but it's not large enough for practical play. Consequently, we've found that most of the story action takes place in front of the castle, with it serving primarily as a backdrop. Durability-wise, it is more rickety than I expected, but no more fragile than your average Barbie house.
Still, it's fun and magical and the chiming clock was a BIG hit. My daughter had to choose between this and a GameBoy and I'm very glad she choose this. She and her younger sister play with it often and it's fun to hear them making up their own stories using the fairy-tale springboard this castle provides.

The drawers and chest are difficult to open and close because the pieces get stuck in the open spaces behind chest and in front of the secret drawer. The stands, used to hold the dolls and snap into the dance floor that spins. have two small plastic pieces that snap into the dance floor. The small clips are very easy for a 3-5 year old to break; my 23 year old broke one.

My daughter received this from her grandmother on her birthday last month and has played with it every day since. She plays with any and all toys small enough to fit in it. it is small inside but I think if there were more space when opened, it would be way too bulky.

Really flimsy castle!!!,

This castle is very overpriced and very flimsy. I am glad this was a Christmas present and I am not out the money for this thing. We are giving her a three story large dollhouse for Christmas this year so that we can throw this piece of junk away!!!!

This toy is a very over-priced piece of junk. It is made of flimsy plastic and appears to be unstable both when open and closed. We had to glue the doll stands back together on day 2 and I am just counting the seconds until we have to do more repairs. My daughter (3 and a half) played with it for a few days after Christmas but has not touched it since. When I ask her why she doesn't want to play with it she says that she doesn't like that the dresser drawer gets stuck everytime she closes it and she always scrapes her hands on the door frame. We also have the carriage that goes with the castle - another piece of junk. We have glued pieces on it repeatedly and they still fall of. The dolls are hard to fit inside the carriage too. Both the castle and carriage have small parts and are a potential hazard to younger siblings. I am very disappointed in this product - though now I understand why I didn't see any of these on display.

I bought this for one of my daughters (I have 4) for Christmas... She is a HUGE Cinderella fan and this of course, was a must have. She has had so much fun playing with it!! And I have loved every minute of watching her!
Yes, it's made of plastic and I am worried about the durability -- Like most Mattel things, it's made a little on the fragile side. No there is not a lot of space in the castle itself.. BUT I don't really see that as a problem. The only actual room is an upstairs bedroom with a bed --- plenty of room just to get in and out.... My daughter just plays in front of the castle the rest of the time, using it as a backdrop for her fantasy play --- She has her Prince and Princess dancing all the way around the castle. She also got the carriage... and while we have had no problem with the horse standing (we have wooden floors -- i don't imagine he would on carpeting)... He constantly comes loose from the carriage... and My Daughter has just ditched the horse totally. Just a note ---- We also bought a Barbie size version of the Fairy Godmother (found it on Ebay out of the UK) .. Adorable and it (plus a Cd of Bippity Boppity Boo playing in the playground) has just made my Daughters Christmas.... Yes it is expensive, most Mattel things are (and so are Most Disney Princess things).... but to see my Princess' face light up .. It was well worth it...

Santa bought this for our 3 yr old and she loves it. I have a few complaints about it as far as getting your money's worth. We paid $69.99 at Toys R Us and completely overpaid! It is a good size, but doesn't have much room inside at all. It's made on the flimsy side and the door comes off when opened. It's a cute castle with much detail inside. I was looking into buying her the carriage that goes with it, but have read that it's not a good buy because of the cheap plastic. My only advice is: DON'T PAY OVER $40 FOR THIS! IT'S NOT WORTH OVER THAT!

I read the reviews and was a little hesitant to purchase this castle for my daughter. In a way, I'm glad I did purchase it for her. She loves playing with it, but I'm looking for a more durable dollhouse for her to use with her dolls. The second floor folds down to make the bedroom in the castle, but I'm afraid it is going to break every time we fold the floor down. The folding floor is starting to show wear marks and we haven't had it that long. The castle is VERY flimsy for the price paid. It really isn't what I expected at all.
