I really didn't see much difference between this album and its predecessor, but it has a few more demo recordings and a very pretty rendition of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." When growing up, I loved the songs and music of this movie, and still do to this day. The only complaint I have for this CD is the "grouping" of tracks. Some of the tracks have five components to them. Other than that, the soundtrack is great, and is perfect for the kids or the adults.

My daughter loves the Cinderella movie and this CD is perfect. It has all the main songs and instumental music from the movie. There are also some additional songs not from the movie on the second half of the CD. Whenever we listen to this CD it's almost like watching the movie. Anyone who has kids that love the movie will also love this.

What a delight to finally hear the rich background music and much of the dialogue from this Disney masterpiece on one compact disk! Long awaited to be released on DVD from the Disney vaults, this entertaining CD companion piece to the new DVD has been certainly worth the wait. Ilene Woods, as Cinderella, has one of the warmest, most expressive voices you'll ever want to hear! All the voices are well cast, and the incidental music is evocative of a more innocent time and place. In addition, some deleted tunes, a Jim Brickman song, and an updated version of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" are included, stretching the audience appeal of this disk. Listeners of all ages will truly believe that if you wish and try hard enough, your heart's dream can come true!

When scoring his films, Walt Disney always seemed able to commission the best composers for both the score & songs. 1950's 'Cinderella' was no exception - it's a largely lighthearted score minus most of the dark undertones from previous Disney films such as 'Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs' and even 'Bambi'.

Some of the songs are slow, gentle melodies underscoring the romantic tone of the film - justifiably, as the story centers largely around Cinderella's dreams of a romance with the handsome prince - and that dream being realized. Two of the songs, 'Cinderella' (the main title) and 'So This is Love' stand out the most in this aspect; the oh-so-lively 'Bibbidi-Bobbodi-Boo' makes for a wonderful melody as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother begins the magic transformation that makes Cinderella's dream come true. The lively 'Working Song', sung by the mouse chorus, is a great, funny melody that starts off telling the mice's perspective of Cinderella's maltreatment at the hands of her stepmother & stepsisters, then changes direction when a girl mouse suggests making a dress for Cinderella.

Like most Disney scores, this is filled with classics & not to be missed! Both young & olde Disney fans will love it.

I was hoping this would have the arrangements / songs from the ABC (TV) version of Cinderella with Brandy.

It does not. (Apparently, the soundtrack was never released.)


Alas, it's still beautiful music. Of course, EVERYONE loves EVERYTHING by Jim Brickman!

I purchased this soundtrack a while ago when my daughter was only 4. Great sound quality and just like watching the movie. Very magical!

This CD is great. My daughter really likes the movie but I don't like here watching a lot of TV. Instead I purchased this for her and she'll sit in front of the CD player and listen to it over and over. Great thing to have in the car too!

Bought this as a gift for my 3-year old daughter along with a Hello kitty cd player and some other cds. She loved it all.

I brought this for my daughters 2nd birthday as she loves the movie and trying for her not to watch so much t.v
She has her own c.d player in her room [no t.v]
We listen it it everyday we sing and dance in her room.
All the songs are included as they run in the movie including bonus track that we also listen to. which included tracks that never made it into the movie that we also love
I think music is so wonderful and why not a soundtrack I grow up with soundtracks of movies on records my daughters speech is amazing from learning the words to the songs
