5.0 out of 5 stars A serious monograph with 300+ illustrations in B&W, June 4, 2006
This review is from: Walter Gropius (Dover Books on Architecture) (Paperback)
Everything you need to know about Walter Gropius and his architecture on 250 pages, and in 235 photos and 88 linear drawings - all in black-and-white. It is a reprint of 1954 book by the Reinhold Publishing Corp. - very meticulous and detailed - but very accessible for all fans of architecture. A good size and large typeface make it easy to read or just browse through. Text and illustrations are grouped into two separate parts. Gropius's works are divided into 11 categories (in each part). Each work is meticulously described with references to particular illustrations, and each illustration has a fragment of the text part referenced to it. All together, it is a serious book, but easy and pleasant to read.
