I was very excited to receive this box set of seasons 1 and 2, and when finally putting in my DVD player, I was not disappointed! Every single episode from those first two seasons are on the 10 discs, and the company does a good job in explaining and navigating one where to find what episode one wishes to view. The quality of the picture is excellent in many of the shows, however, there are some signs of wear from the transfer of film to digital. It would have been very helpful and convenient to have placed all of the episodes on one side of the discs as opposed to having to turn each disc over. It would also have been nice if they could have allowed one to play all the episodes continuously instead of having to skip down each time in the menu to hit play again. Lastly, they could have put some type of commentary track with background info or interviews with cast members. But other than that, the set up of the discs is very professional looking and the nostalgia alone (without commercials) like in two of my favorites, "The Odyssey," and "The Venture," plus the great price for so many episodes should encourage one to purchase this product as soon as possible!!

These are the perfect family viewing! No reason to send the children out of the room for these wonderful shows! Takes you back through the depression, and through a LOT of what is going on in this present day- a person can relate, and possibly learn. The back-to-back seasons are a must have! Soon you will find yourself a Walton's fan and purchasing every season! If you have never heard of THE WALTON'S and you enjoy LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRARIE then you will very much enjoy these!!!This is a great price and shipping is always fast from Amazon.

i remember watching these as a kid and it brings back good memories and good times. even though i did not live during that era i have always been struck by the kindness, compassion and real love of an entire family. most old shows i revisit never seem to be as good the second time around. but these are a treasure trove of a yesterday that i was not a part of and also brings back the memories of my life when this show aired. as i remember Earl Hamner saying it was a much simpler time and a house filled with love and joy. it is very relaxing to watch these in this time now and know that there were times in our country of difficulty and uncertainty but the love of family kept all things together. i was inspired by John Boy when i was young and wanted to be a writer. He is the true big brother we all wish we had.
