5.0 out of 5 stars This Series Just Gets Better, February 6, 2011

This review is from: Walt's People - Volume 9: Talking Disney with the Artists who Knew Him (Paperback)
The Walt's People series is downright addictive. Each volume contains two dozen or more interviews with some of Walt Disney's most creative, but under-publicized, people. Volume 9 is comprised of 34 chapters, each devoted to a fascinating Disney employee, almost all of whom toiled in anonymity. At 524 pages, this volume is nearly 100 pages longer than any of the eight that came before it. Many Volume 9 chapters cover those who worked in Disney's comic-book unit. All nine volumes highlighted those who actually worked with Walt Disney from the 1920s to the 1960s. But Volume 9 includes some reminiscences from more current times. Especially appealing are the final 51 pages, devoted to Tom Sito's observations. The multi-talented animator, story artist and Disney historian provides an inside look at his roles on some of the greatest animated films ever, including "The Lion King," "Who Killed Roger Rabbit" and the only animated film ever nominated for an Academy Award Best Picture, "Beauty and the Beast." A must read for Disney nuts, a wonderful entertainment for everyone else.
