Product Description

Here it is, the Leviathan Fuzz. A true monster. With complete control over the tone: volume, gain, bass and treble and a switch that changes from a roar to a rumble feel. Switches between GE and SI diodes, allowing you to more precisely shape the nature of the sound between a more compressed but gainier sound, or an open, throaty tone. Let your imagination guide you... switch it a few times to get the hang of its sound, and from then on you'll know when you want to rumble, and when you want a roar! You know that this pedal will be the most consistent and versatile fuzz available. This is a true Wampler original, the circuit was born on the operating table in the Wampler basement, and you know if you turn your back on it for a second, it will bite you on the ass. Features High grade film capacitors and resistors picked for their superior sound and response Completely true bypass Battery connection and 9v power jack (barrel plug like Boss) High gain, fuzzy and dynamic pedal Ultra-bright LEDs for ease of use 2.5" x 4.5" Powder coated durable finish

First, you should know this pedal is discontinued. It didn't sell very well and that's a shame because it is a very good sounding fuzz pedal although a bit too warm sounding for my amp (probably a perfect pairing for a brighter amp). The germanium side has less gain and more volume the the silicon side. It sounds great and is easy to tame but doesn't sound exactly like any other fuzz pedal I've tried. The silicon side is markedly more aggressive but actually has less volume on tap. Both sound good and have a really wide range. As with most versatile pedals I've tried, the wide range of sounds it's capable of actually makes it a tad bit harder to dial in properly. It also works really well with my Micro POG's octave down setting and might make an excellent fuzz for a bass guitar.

Really the only reason it doesn't get five stars is that it's a bit too warm with my amp (I think it'd be perfect for a bright amp) and a bit tricky to dial in right.
