Product Description

No need to worry whether you'll have a good clean tone and a good distorted tone. Just your favorite amp and the SLO stortion to take your tone places walked by some of the best guitar-slingers from the 1980s to today. It features a great three-band EQ to make sure you can have "The Tone" through YOUR setup, whatever it may be. The gain is switchable between two separate modes to capture the nuances and flavor of its inspiration. The normal mode will go from a nearly clean tone to a tight, defined crunch, and the high gain mode goes all out. It's responsive, too, and to top it off, even when the tone is as heavy as it gets, the pedal doesn't squeal and hiss with noise. No sacrifices for your rig. To top it off, the pedal features a specially tuned clean boost. It's an op-amp boost circuit Brian's worked on for some time, and even at unity output, it will add a little something extra to the sound. To complete the package, it functions independently: a true two-in-one pedal, offering great value, our way of showing our appreciation for the faith you place in our products! We think you're going to love this one. Brian's worked on it as hard as he's ever worked on anything before, and the results are apparent: an authentic American roar, with all the gain and tonal adjustments you need to take you and your rig wherever you need to go, and reliability that won't let you down. Rock on, powered by the Wampler Pedals SLO stortion! Features: Hand made in the U.S.A. High grade film capacitors and resistors picked for their superior sound and response Completely true bypass Battery connection and 9v power jack (barrel plug like Boss) Power draw: 15mA Completely original design 3 band EQ giving you complete tonal control Separate Boost switch that can be used as a clean signal booster Completely original design Exceptionally responsive mid range Crunch / Overdrive switch giving you extra voicing options.

I have used Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifiers in the recording studio a number of times and have been a fan of the amp for years. The Wampler Triple Wreck is about as close that a pedal can get to the real deal (of course, depending on what amp, cab and EQ settings may be factored in at the signal chain). But aside from mimicking the Mesa, the pedal itself has some unique tonal qualities that give it that little extra in the tone department.

I've done a side by side comparison between this one and its brothers the Sovereign and the Pinnacle, as well as the Okko Dominator, and the Triple Wreck is one mean beast.

Aesthetically, the new version that i got may look a bit more "cool" compared to the older versions, but i believe the circuitry is no different from that of the original release.

SUMMARY
This is a really awesome sounding pedal that does a nice job of getting very close to a mesa rectifier sound. I call it "destruction in a tin can". It makes the sounds I've been trying to get out of pedals for years and years. However, I got a bad one the first time and that makes me question the quality control at wampler and the durability of the design. Also, the price is very high for a distortion pedal. So -1 star for quality and value combined. But it does sound good, provided you use a battery and not a power supply to power it.

I have a Mesa Mini-rectifier and the amp drive channels sound better than this pedal, but the pedal is close. Put this thing into a fender amp or smaller combo and prepared to be amazed at how big and metal you can sound. Even with a Blues Jr for instance.

PROS
- Awesome distortion sounds. As close to a real rectifier amp as I've heard from a pedal.
- Versatile with a lot of tweakability on the 6 knobs, 1 mini switch, and 2 stomp switches.
- "standard" power supply 9V center positive (like a boss pedal)
- power supply jack located where it should be -- on the rear vertical surface.
- Form factor - not too big, not too small. Doesn't hog the pedal board but not so small you hit other pedals stomping it.
- I like the main pedal + Boost pedal format, and that they put the boost on the right, not the left.

CONS
- Price is extremely high at close to $300 with tax and/or shipping.
- I got a dud on the first unit - raising questions of quality and control and durability of design, and I see I am not the only person who has had quality issues with this pedal.
- I've noticed it sounds a lot cleaner with a battery than it does with a high quality power supply.

I wasn't a fan of distortion pedals until I tried this one. Running a Line 6 DT 25 and Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in a stereo A/B setup. Adds that extra punch I needed and gives me the tone I was looking for when using the two simultaneously.

I use it with my high Marshall and even though I love my Marshall's gain when I want that Mesa sound I stomp on this bad boy and I have that Mesa high gain sound. This is by far the best high gain pedal I have ever played. In brutal mode you have a lovely fuzz sound. I also have Wampler's Velvet fuzz and it too is fantastic.

This pedal completely revolutionized my view of distortion pedals. It is really in the same league as a full tube amp.

I actually own a dual rectifier, and with this pedal plugged, I am able to get an almost perfect replica.

Could not be happier
