4.0 out of 5 stars nice sheets
sheen fades after a wash (but thats what "sateen" sheets do), but they are nice sheets at a good price.

3.0 out of 5 stars One wash and the initially luxuriant appearance is gone
The sheets (and accompanying pillowcases) look great -- when they're just out of the package. Luxuriant and classy. But after one wash, they are starting to look like my cheaper sheets. The sheets (and accompanying pillowcases) look great -- when they're just out of the package. Luxuriant and classy. But after one wash, they are starting to look like my cheaper sheets. The initial sateeny gloss just washes away. Alas, that was also true of the 500TC pillowcases from SmartBargains.com, but at least they keep their hefty yet smooth feel. Only the Joseph Abboud (sp?) sheets from SmartBargains.com [without pillowcases], of the ones I've tried so far, have really kept their elegance after washing.

So: a rating of 5 before use and wash, a rating of 1-2 after. Average: 3.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice sheet, not durable., August 29, 2004
I have purchased 2 top sheets and one fitted, king size white. They are nice and quite confortable. I am afraid to report that after washing them 4 times (machine wash, cold water delicate cyle and tumble dry low) both top sheets presented small holes. This is quite disappinting!

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy a size larger than your bed, there is a reason these sheets are $9.99, August 25, 2005
I read the other reviews about how these sheets didn't fit well. Then I realized this was probably why they were reduced in price.

I simply bought Cali/King for my king mattress and they fit fine. So, buy a size "up" and tuck if you have to. The bargain is great!

To avoid shrinking, wash in cold water and line dry if you can. If you machine dry them it's best if you use a cool setting. This does help them retain their finish & fit.

If you treat them like typical sheets and throw them in the washer & dryer on "Hot"... Well, you'll get what you paid $9.99 for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfy sheets, July 8, 2004
I purchased a set of these sheets in black when they were very reasonably priced in a Friday Sale. They're great: soft, no pilling, great feel. Washing them has only enhanced the comfortable feel. Found a bonus buy on them tonight, buy one fitted or flat, get the other free and couldn't pass them up. What a bargain!! Can't wait to sleep on them.

5.0 out of 5 stars will only buy wamsutta from now on!, July 30, 2004

These are the first 4 sets of sheets (all different colors) for our new king size bed. I am a flannel girl at heart (yes, even in summer)and recoil in terror at the mere mention of regular cotton sheets.

Until now.

Forced into a compromise by my husband (who's internal thermostat broke at 125 degrees F), I reluctantly bought regular cotton sheets. I was astounded the first time I touched these sheets! Soft & luxurious & beautiful... doesn't even begin to cover it... (no pun intended) yes, getting out of bed is even MORE difficult now...

This is the second purchase we've made from Wamsutta on Amazon, and I have to say, they've exceeded all my expectations by miles!

the other purchase was (you guessed it...) 2 flannel duvet covers for my down comforter... the duvet covers have a very impressive weight.... and with those two combined we could spend the night at the summit of Mt. Rainier and still be warm...

truly remarkable products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautifuly soft and sooo comfortable, August 8, 2004
By
These sheets are beautiful! They are so incredibly soft and are not too hot which was our biggest fear! 300 Thread count should be the standard for all sheets. Priced for under $30 I received the flat sheet and as a bonus the fitted sheet was included. This deal was too good to pass up...and I am sure glad I didn't!

4.0 out of 5 stars Washed well., August 16, 2004
These sheets washed well. Kept their color and didn't pill. Needed to be ironed. A GREAT bargain when purchased as a set.

3.0 out of 5 stars About these sheets..., August 30, 2004

It's just OK. I love the periwinkle color, but the sheet tends to attract lint and pills up a bit after a few washes. I also have this sheet in 360 thread count and would recommend that; the 360 is much better.

I thought these sheets were great for the price until I washed them. After three washes they are pilling. I did not think sheets with this thread count would do that.
