5.0 out of 5 stars Best blanket for swadeling your baby
I received this blanket as a shower gift and loved it because it was so soft and cuddly. After my daughter was born, I realized I loved it because it is such an amazing blanket for swaddeling her in!!! After reading, "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Karp, I learned about the importance of swaddeling your newborn to get them to sleep through the night. My husband...

2.0 out of 5 stars Falls apart
This is my 2 year old daughters favorite blanket and it goes everywhere with us. We are on number 2 and you can see through it. It is a nice blanket, very soft, if it didn't fall apart I would give it 5 stars. I guess if it doesn't become your childs "buddy" it would not be a problem since you wouldn't have to wash it so often.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best blanket for swadeling your baby, January 3, 2005
This review is from: Wamsutta - Cable Baby Blanket - Yellow Chenille (Baby Product)
My husband and I first tried using a normal Carter's receiving blanket which worked fine for the first 2 weeks, especially because they were light and didn't make my daugher sweat. My daughter was 9 pounds when she was born and it was the middle of July. The Carter blankets were rather worthless after the first 2 weeks, she got out of that swaddle very quickly which would wake her from her nap. One night we tried this Wamsutta blanket because it was rather thin and wouldn't make her sweat. What a miracle! The blanket is really soft and VERY stretchy. For the next 10 weeks we swaddled her in this blanket for every nap and every night. No joke, she began sleeping through the night at 3 1/2 weeks and I really owe it all to that book and this blanket. Using it every day required it to be washed every couple of days and I have not noticed any fraying or loose threads...the only thing I noticed is that it is wearing pretty thin in the middle of the blanket due to all the stretching from swaddling our big bundle of joy. But that is nothing dangerous. I love this blanket and give it with a copy of Dr. Karps book to every expecting mom I know. It really helped me out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Baby's Gotta Have It...., December 19, 2003

This is my son's all time favorite blanket! We were given one as a baby shower gift (along with many others), and it soon became apparent that this was the only one that comforted him. He is going on three years old, and we have purchased several of these blankets since that initial gift. It is a beautiful yellow, perfect for a boy or girl, very soft and luxurious, and warm. It's only down side is that it doesn't last through machine washings very well, so if your child loves it (like mine), be prepared to buy more. However, the pleasure it gives my son is definately worth it! It is a great gift!

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed in durability, April 26, 2004

I bought this blanket because it felt so soft and warm, and I expected a high quality, durable product because of the Wamsutta name. I have been disappointed though. I have washed it only twice, according to the recommeded care instructions, and it has lost most of the material between the weaves. The blanket looks like it is 20 years old and I have only had it for 6 months. I am very disppointed with this product and I certainly hope Wamsutta comes up with a more durable, but equally soft baby blanket.
