5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect duvet ... and a caveat ...
This duvet is just what I was looking for. The measurements for the full/queen version are 86 x 86 inches, by the way (218 x 218 cm), and since I was unsure what Wamsutta's "full/queen" interpretation was, I didn't know if it would fit my featherbed until I received the product. 2.0 out of 5 stars Bleached by water? But it feels great!
I got this with a duvet cover and both feel GREAT! But after my partner drooled on the pillow case there were little spots that looked like bleach had been splatered on the pillow cases. And when sweat got on the sheets after a hot night there were spots there too. I have never seen this before and am very disappointed because the sheets feel great, but aesthetically...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect duvet ... and a caveat ..., December 13, 2004

This duvet is just what I was looking for. The measurements for the full/queen version are 86 x 86 inches, by the way (218 x 218 cm), and since I was unsure what Wamsutta's "full/queen" interpretation was, I didn't know if it would fit my featherbed until I received the product. Fits great and the duvet is soft flannel, thick enough to prevent feathers pricking your skin through the sheets (don't you just hate that?) and a lovely color too, I chose Brick to contrast with dark blue sheets. I have owned other duvets and they are usually either silky feeling and too thin to prevent feather prick, or, thick to prevent feather prick but coarse feeling to the touch. The Wamsatta product avoids both of these pitfalls and I recommend it to anyone.

Update August 2005, after the first washing, the duvet produced a ton of lint, and needed rewashing and brushing down. Not such a big problem if you throw them in a dryer but if you're like me and use only solar drying, this is a big old mess. If I had known this before purchase then I would have avoided this problem. The loose linty stuff comes off in handfulls. YUK.

4.0 out of 5 stars Careful with the pillowcases - sweat will bleach them..., May 28, 2005
By
I bought Celedon, Windstream, Brick and Haze all with matching sheet sets on sale. I must agree with the other reviewers regarding the softness and warmth.

The only 2 big problems I have found with the matching sheet sets so far is LINT everywhere! I wake up with it in my hair, all over my duvet, pjs etc. After 3 washings the lint problem has finally receeded - So make sure you wash them a couple times before using or you'll have lint everywhere.

The other issue I have faced is with the pillowcases (Celedon, Haze and Windstream). It is very strange, but if you sweat, drool, wear a face cream etc, the color on the cases fade. It looks like someone has spilled bleach on them. I will not/have not used the Brick pillowcases, for fear of the same thing happening.

Regardless, the duvet covers are very soft, warm and comfortable. They made a big difference on the coldest nights in winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice cover that gives added weight to your comforter, December 18, 2004

This cover helps to add weight and warmth to our comforter. I like the flannel material that makes it very comfortable. Most importantly, it is machine washable. You can also choose from a wide variety of colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flannel Sheets, March 22, 2005
I purchased these sheets to replace some flannel sheets that I bought from Lands' End. I was very pleased to discover that these sheets were better quality than the sheets from Lands' End at 1/3 the price. I highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome duvet, nice and soft!, July 6, 2005

Mad Track (Cambridge, MA United States) - See all my reviews
These 100% cotton duvets are just great. They are soft and fuzzy. Twin size is quite large (around 64 inches??). There are buttons at the bottom to insert your fillings. Prices are wonderful. I bought a couple for my grandma, and she loves it. It help keep her warm during chilly nights. Highly recommended, and the best duvet offered by Amazon (ie., free shipping over 25).

5.0 out of 5 stars Flannel Sheets & Duvet Cover, March 7, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These flannel sheets are the absolute best quality sheets I've ever owned. I used to purchase my sheets at a department store and pay an arm and a leg. These are much better quality than those and a lot less expensive. They have held up beautifully wash after wash. For super softness and a nice thickness, look no further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warm and luxurious!!, March 28, 2005
I purchased these sheets for my grandmother and she has not stopped raving about them! They are very thick and high quality, although I expect nothing less from Wamsutta, a name I trust for all my linens. My grandmother absolutely loves the texture of these sheets. They are thick but not too heavy, and are resistant to pilling wash after wash. Perhaps the best feature is the price and availibility of colors and sizes. Take advantage of this remarkable deal and you will not regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Snuggly Warmth & Luxurious Softness, October 2, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
1 Duvet Cover

2 Shams

When I tried to take these sheets off the bed and wash them, my husband complained that he didn't like the other sheets as much. "They are so comfy and soft," he said. So, a day later I had them washed and put back on the bed. They do take slightly longer to dry and I ended up putting them back in the dryer for a few minutes even when the dryer cycle was complete.

The softness of these sheets takes you to new levels of comforting warmth. We put these on the bed just when the weather started to turn slightly colder. The preshrunk cotton has been brushed to maximum softness unlike anything I've ever felt in a sheet. The quality seems superior for the price. They had an excellent sale when I bought mine and I came back to buy another set.

The Wamsutta Flannel sheets are velvety in a heavyweight flannel that is brushed on both sides for comfort. You will adore these sheets. Even my husband complains if I put any other sheets on the bed. My cats think they are in heaven as they sink their paws into the soft fabric and duvet. They normally won't walk on other comforter covers, but this

one really appeals to them.

I have not noticed any "hair pickup" problems as I read about before purchasing the item. This product seems to stay clean longer than regular cotton comforter/duvet covers which I seem to have to change every four days. The perfect gift for comfort loving friends!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely--but watch the 'bonus'., September 11, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The bonus standard shams refers, apparently, to the fact that it comes with pillow shams at all; it does *not* come with four, as I originally thought when reading the title. Either way, since I'm not actually one to use pillow shams on a regular basis, I don't think it really matters, and they really are quite nice. I can't wait to actually use them, but I purchased them in advance--Ohio's not quite cold enough for flannel in early September!
