5.0 out of 5 stars Wamsutta Flannel Gingham Sheets
I was hesitant about buying these sheets in the beginning. I read A LOT of the reviews and saw rave statements and horrid ones. The good out-weighed the bad and I figured for 9.99 each; even a set of two was less than one set from Pennys.

Those reviewers who said they were rough or scratchy need to be tested for sensory integration dysfunction. I've got two...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Flannel, color on one side only.
If you are familiar with flannel sheets (we have used them for more than ten years) and you are considering these, do not buy them. They were very stiff out of the package, so I washed them using a fabric softener and added a Bounce sheet to the dryer. They were still stiff, with no fuzz to speak of. No way am I going to be sleeping on these. Save your money and try a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wamsutta Flannel Gingham Sheets, August 24, 2006
I was hesitant about buying these sheets in the beginning. I read A LOT of the reviews and saw rave statements and horrid ones. The good out-weighed the bad and I figured for 9.99 each; even a set of two was less than one set from Pennys.

Those reviewers who said they were rough or scratchy need to be tested for sensory integration dysfunction. I've got two kids on the spectrum and that's who these sheets are for. These sheets are super soft. They wash up great. I forgot them in the dryer and they hardly wrinkled. There is no lint in the dryer trap.

The tan/maple/caramel color sort of blends to coordinate with whatever you put it with. They are white on the back side but that only matters if you like to fold your top sheet down.

These were an awesome deal and great quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best flannel sheets ever!, August 1, 2004
I was so pleasantly surprised when I got these sheets. Honestly the best sheets you can find for the price. Fit our super thick mattress with room to spare and are so soft and thick. I was a bit disappointed that when I tried to buy another set that they were sold out, but have found that you can pre-order them for a future expected shipment and have ordered another set along with some spare pillow cases.

These would not be a deal at half the price.

These sheets were an excellent value. The combination of great price, thickness, size of the fitted sheet and feel of the material met my expectations.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice set for those cool (but not cold) evenings, May 1, 2006

Seagull (somewhere on the West Coast) - See all my reviews
I just bought the Wamsutta 100% Cotton Luxury Gingham Flannel Twin Sheet set, and overall I am quite pleased with them. The sheets are soft and comfortable, even though I did not use a fabric softener with them (just regular wash warm, tumble dry). I didn't find them scratchy or stiff at all, and I was actually reluctant to get up from them this morning!

As one previous reviewer pointed out, these are not the standard flannel sheets with fuzz and all. In fact, these don't have fuzz, and are slightly thinner than my regular flannel set. Think of them as "fuzz-less flannel". It might not pass as a cold wintery night set of sheets, but are definitely cozy and comfy enough for spring/fall.

Also, the gingham print is only on one side, as someone said before. Some people may find it problematic for the top, flat sheet, but since I put a comforter over all of that anyway it didn't matter much to me. The back side of the sheet is plain white, but still the same warm cottony feel.

I had a little bit of difficult fitting the fitted sheet onto my 11" mattress. For some reason, the pockets didn't seem deep enough (the corners are hanging quite low), but there is a lot of slack on the sides. I'm not sure why this is so.

Overall, the Wamsutta Flannel set is a wonderful deal for the price (I got it on sale for $9.99 at Amazon). They are cute, comfortable, and warm, and have a very nice thick-ish cotton feel. However, if you are looking for heavy flannel with real fuzz, you should look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wamsutta Flannel Sheets a Clear Winner!, March 12, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are not the first Wamsutta sheets I've ordered from Amazon and they won't be the last: from their high quality, softness and weight, top-notch stitching and size to the prompt shipping, they are winners. The king-size pillowcases, like the sheets, are very roomy. I'd highly recommend these for gifts, but be sure to order a few sets for yourself, too. There is no better bargain, or higher quality sheet, to be found, even at 2-3 times the price. Two thumbs up! One note to those hesitating to buy flannel because they think it may be too hot: it is actually very comfy in the summer, too.

I was very disappointed in these sheets. Though the gingham is really cute with my comforter, these feel like thick 180 count sheets. I don't recommend them unless you need something cute for the spare bedroom.

These look more checkered than the photo. Like your normal country checkered table cloth design...would look good w/ a rose type print for a laura ashley type feel. They are flannel and warm. Seem to be well sewn and the fabric is thick. Will need to wash a few times to soften up (I havent done this Ill come back and add the review if in washing they change color or fall apart) but from what I can see this is cheaper than what you can get at walmart and seems to be pretty good quality. Its a full on red not a mauve.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you have a boys firetruck quilt or room, this is for you, January 28, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
these sheets are not only soft, but go wonderfully with my boys firetruck, transportation room. His quilt has gingham check trim and accents and this sheet set (in brick) goes PERFECTLY and the price at $16.99 shipped is excellent. These are not cheap sheets!!! The sheets are thick and soft. Excellent deal. I prompty ordered the blue gingham (windstream) to use alternating to match the blue-denim in his quilt. Very, very nice set. Better than expected!
