5.0 out of 5 stars The best Celtic album in my personal collection!, May 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wander The Wood (Audio CD)
It's funny that I should see this here today...cuz I was just telling someone a few hours ago that I bet I have listened to this album 350-400 times over the last year. I have never been a huge fan of Celtic (although I sometimes hear Thistle and Shamrock on NPR), but I just love this album! They have some upbeat stuff and some quiet stuff...a really nice mix. "Nubiles of the Negev" makes me smile when I hear it...it feels like a Middle Eastern bluegrass thing. "Arran Boatsong" is this haunting melody that just rolls around in my head sometimes. "Keelhaulin the Bosn" makes me think of ships sailing out of a harbor. But I think my favorite is either "No Worries" or "Blackberry Blossom"...depending on my mood. The first one is really quiet and lovely. The second one just pulls you along on a big train of sound. Oh, and I have heard a few people's versions of "Star of the Country Down", but this is my favorite. I have turned a lot of my friends on to this album. Really, really good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very moving music!, January 18, 2007
This review is from: Wander The Wood (Audio CD)
I bought this CD after I downloaded a sample from Amazon's free mp3 downloads. The selection of songs is no less than magic. There are many different feels, and one of the songs my 13 year old daughter and I describe as "what happiness looks like". I definitely recommend it. I was out looking on Amazon today for other Yankee Celtic Consort CD's and didn't find any. We're huge fans now and hope to see more work by this band in the future!
