5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet bluebrass love songs, December 19, 2002
This review is from: Wanderlust (Audio CD)
Well-crafted, low-key bluegrass heart songs, produced by Jody Stecher, who also plays and sings throughout, as well as Laurie Lewis plunking away on the bass. A nice, unassuming country-tinged set, similar to the sweet stuff Ricky Skaggs' recorded in the early '80s. Recommended.

I was fortunate to see Chris Brashear and Perfect Strangers perform many of the songs from this CD live in Palo Alto, CA, late March of 2001. It was an incredible show. The musicianship, skill, soul of the group was amazing. I love playing this CD and re-living the experience. The songs are well crafted, melodic, and poignant. I highly recommend it. I hope Perfect Strangers puts out a CD and tours again!

I was lucky enough to see Chris Brashear perform many of the songs on this CD at a bluegrass concert in Palo Alto in March 2001. I highly recommend this CD, and if you get a chance to see him perform with the group Perfect Strangers, I highly recommend that, too. They were incredible.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Love Bluegrass, Or Even If You Don't..., March 24, 2001

I saw Chris Brashear and Perfect Strangers (Chris on fiddle, guitar; Jody Stecher, mandolin; Forrest Rose, bass; Peter McLaughlin, guitar; Bob Black, banjo; special guest Ed Neff on fiddle) perform an excellent show at the Freight and Salvage in the People's Republic of Berkeley, California, and picked up this CD, which features all of them except Forrest Rose. It's magnificent! Chris's songwriting ability is brilliant and soulful. Stunning harmonies and tones, expert musicianship, and moving songs. This is a magical, MUST-HEAR album for every bluegrass fan and for those interested in bluegrass who haven't quite fallen in love with it yet. I hope PERFECT STRANGERS releases an album soon!

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Every track is a real treat, especially Brashear's originals. He's backed by some all star bluegrass musician's who are all tasteful, Peter McLaughlin, Jody Stecher, Laurie Lewis, Ed Neff and Bob Black. Together they produce a solid band sound that is original, creative and very enjoyable. I have no criticism's of this album and highly recommend it. Treat yourself to this gem, I'm certain it will become one of your favorites.
