The Malata DVD-1010 portable DVD player features a broad, 10.2-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) TFT LCD, whose large viewable area, and thin-film-resistor construction render smooth, vivid images on the 800 x 480-pixel screen. The player also has built-in stereo speakers for headphones-free listening and compatibility with DVD-Video, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 CD, and JPEG image CD/Kodak Picture CD. Listen to Dolby Digital soundtracks through the unit's speakers or through headphones (not included). There's a second headphone jack in case you want to watch with a partner (or if you have 2 kids in the back seat), and there's a digital-audio output for channeling surround-sound signals to a compatible audio/video receiver and multichannel speaker system for home use.

The unit's composite-video and stereo analog audio outputs are switchable as inputs so you can use the DVD-1010 as a monitor for a camcorder, VCR, or gaming console if you wish. Electronic skip protection minimizes viewing or listening interruptions while you're on the road.

Supplied accessories include an AC/DC power adapter, a DC power adapter that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery good for about 3 hours' viewing between charges, and a remote control.
