Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

A great gift or an affordable convenience for commuter or vacation travel, Malata's compact and lightweight DVD-560V gives you portable video and music entertainment. The DVD player features a 5.6-inch standard (4:3 aspect ratio) TFT LCD for clear, vivid images, and its built-in stereo speakers grant headphones-free listening. The player spins DVDs--both NTSC and region-free/region 1 PAL-formatted discs--as well as commercial CDs, recordable CDs, and MP3-encoded CDs. Electronic skip protection minimizes viewing or listening interruptions while you're on the road.

The unit's composite-video output lets you use the DVD-560V as a home player by hooking it up with your television (older TVs may require a video modulator to convert the player's composite-video signal to RF coaxial). There's a coaxial digital-audio output, too, so you can channel your movies' Dolby Digital surround sound to a compatible audio/video receiver and multichannel speaker system. Huge fun from a tiny device.

Supplied accessories include an AC/DC power adapter, a DC power adapter that plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

What's in the Box
DVD player, a remote control, remote battery, an AC/DC power adapter, a vehicle DC power adapter, and a user's manual.

Well seems ok, I just received it. THe ear headsets are missing and the remote is hidden in the side of the styrofoam. So look carefully. Also there is a warning you can overcharge the battery and damage it so i guess it does not monitor that. That can be really annoying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice quality, size and sound, January 2, 2005

Bought this discounted with the rebate. Great buy since total ended up being $116. I was worried about the screen size but it turned out great and my 2 1/2 yr old loves it. She won't wear headphones so the sound is nice and loud enough from the speakers for her to listen to it. I initially had a problem with the pause button but after using it once or twice it works perfectly. I went through all the functions and tested it out when I bought it to make sure everything worked and that was the only glitch. My sister's portable dvd player gets hot after a while and quits playing. That is not the case with this one. It does not get hot like the others and I tested this with both battery and ac or car adapter. It comes with all of this and remote but I haven't used the remote yet. It is kind of a stupid concept since I'm driving and the dvd player is behind me -how is the remote ever going to be useful in the car? But its nice to have in case I take it with me on a trip or something. Recommend purchasing this since the price is great, it works great. By the time you wear it out you'll want something different and for this price you can buy 3 of them for the same price as the others.

1.0 out of 5 stars No warranty-- beware!, May 24, 2005
This review is from: Wanlida/Malata DVD-560V 5.6-Inch Portable DVD Player (Electronics)
I purchased this about six months ago, and we've been happy with the quality until we pushed the pause button and it fell into the machine, ne'er to be seen again! Upon calling Amazon, I discovered what another reviewer mentioned... that there is no warranty, and apparently this company does not exist, as there is no website, no phone number, nothing available. It's a risky way to spend $140.
