Since it premiered at Comic-Con '09 there has been a lot of buzz about this music video, both within The Guild community and further afield - and it's rightfully deserved. It's a polished production with excellent lyrics, direction and choreography and can easily stand side by side with any commercially available pop song.

In "Do You Wanna Date My Avatar", Felicia Day's lyrics are as quirky as her Guild scripts, with the added bonus of getting to hear her sing (which we've all been waiting to hear more of since Dr Horrible). You'll also hear Jeff Lewis and Sandeep Parikh perform an impromptu rap during a mid-song breakdown. The rest of The Guild cast can only be seen and not heard, which is why the video is essential viewing. Amy's dancing and Robin and Vincent's "in-character" overacting needs to be seen to get the full "Date My Avatar" experience.

The latest jewel on The Guild's crown was most likely produced on a tight "web video" budget but with Felicia Day, Jed Whedon and Mo Tancharoen involved, their Midas touch has delivered another piece of web video (and audio) gold. The music is catchy, the video is fun to watch and every time this group of people release a piece of work it reminds me why I love new media so much.

It's hard not to love a show when is this fun. The Guild's a great show, and this is definitely a catchy tune. It's fun, funny, and light. Going directly onto my MP3 player. Definitely check out the video if you haven't seen it yet. If you don't know where, I'm sure you can hit up twitter search and look for #datemyavatar and it'll show up.

I don't know why I am suprised everytime I hear something or watch something when all these amazing people team up. What a fantastic and catchy song and video. Please keep it coming Felicia and the whole Whedon team!

24 hours ago I didn't know who Felicia Day, or The Guild were. Now I've seen every episode of her show, every video with her name attached to it on Youtube, and I'm stuck with this damn song in my head with only one way to make it go away. Play it over and over. And I HATE high energy! What have you done to me, Day?! My brain just got owned. :-\

The video is very entertaining for any gamer who knows anything about an MMO. Highly recommended, and glad to support more production from The Guild and its cast and crew.

What a fantastic parody! Enjoyable by all, with appropriate nods to the MMO crowd. Two thumbs up for the Guild, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen!

Today when looking at the new videos posted on the channels I subscribe to (watchtheguild being one of them) I eventually got to this video which totally caught me off guard.

I figured the video would be a trailer for the 3rd season which is about to start soon. However, to my pleasant surprise I was treated to a musical gem that is bound to become an instant online favorite.

The music video features the entire cast of The Guild dressed as their cartoon characters seen in the opening credits. Vocals by Codex (Felicia Day), along with some rapping by Vork (Jeff Lewis) Zaboo (Sandeep Parikh). The lyrics embody the spirit of the show as the cast bring to life their characters in a fun and energetic music video.

One last point to add. This song is really well put together. Generally this sort of thing coming from independent internet projects are often 'low budget' quality; that is not at all the case for this song (and especially for the video which you must watch). This is a good value item, and the $1 is well worth it.

Felicia Day, The Guild, and the Whedonry FTMFW. Ahem. Pardon my French. But no, seriously, there can be no more win than this particular MFW. Felicia and the various assorted and extended Whedon family are just blowing up lately, totally on fire. This shows what you can do with a little net savvy, the latest in low-budget production technology, and more talent than the rest of Southern California put together. Yay team!

"She's a star, and she's hotter than reality by far."

First of all, I can hardly believe that the redhead has an avatar that is hotter. I just bought this because this type of innovation should be supported. This song is catchy, well written, and satirically lampoons the concept of a 325 pound 51 year old unwashed stank playing a hot blood elf as an alternate reality. "What do you look like in real life?" Haha.. makes me glad I'm married. I remember catching two of my guildmates in SW:G using emotes to pretend doing the funky monkey. I was astounded by the concept. Regardless, this song is critical humor at its best. I highly recommend it for the discerning MMO player who chuckles at the thought of online love.

I've been a fan of the show from the beginning and it's great. The song is fun a catchy but the video steals the show, it's fantastically awesome. ON a side not, is it wrong that my 8 year old girls sing this all day? I think I broke them lol. Keep up the good work Felicia and all the Guildies!

This is the catchiest tune I have heard in a long time. I cant get it out of my head. Felicia Dey is just so talented. I knew she could sing but she really outdid herself. Hope there is more to come. Oh and if you arent watching the Guild. You must watch The Guild. LOL
