This review is from: Now I Wanna Be A Good Boy (Remastered Album Version) (MP3 Download)
Song number eight on the band's sophomore studio collection "Leave Home" is one of my favorites. It was recorded during October of 1976 at Sundragon Studios in NYC with producers Tony Bongiovi and Tom Erdelyi who is actually the band's drummer Tommy Ramone. Lyrically speaking it has a positive message of wanting to do things right but musically it also delivers the goods. It begins with an ear catching intro using the chords A, C, D, G which can be played as major or fifths. Really pay attention to it because after it's over and the verse begins, this intro is never repeated again! The best part of the song is when Johnny hits the A, and D chords sounding like a classical music progression while drummer Tommy answers it with a quick hit on the snare and bass drums. Great punk rock!
Thanks for taking the time to read!
