As usual, a thorough and informnative guide to the 4th season of the hottest show Fox broadcasting has ever had. What would you expect from an official guide? I have to re-examine the guides to seasons 1-3, but I think they went into more details on each episode then they do on the behind the scenes info, then they did in the other books. I could be wrong. Lots of great stuff about the episodes, which, is I guess the point, but I want the behind the scenes stuff, the comments of the writers, how the fans reacted, whether the episode came off as they envisioned it, etc. This book has that, but not enough for me. However, this isn't meant to be a negative review. It's the best book on the subject out there, and an excellent buy.

I love the X-Files, and I wanted to read more of the "backstory" of each episode.

Instead, most of the book is wasted on the synopses for each episode. Usually, 6 pages is wasted on the story summary, and only one page on the backstory.

We don't need 6 pages of story summary for each episode: we can watch that! Instead, give us more on the background! .

This book provides extremely interesting summaries and background information for each season four episode of the X-Files, but it has so many typos, grammar, and other mistakes that I wonder why its publication was delayed for six months. It obviously wasn't delayed for any thorough editing of the book.

It's almost as good as having a detailed script of every episode of this season! The detail that goes into the writing is beyond excellent! I didn't get involved with the X-files from day one, but I caught up by reading these excellent guides, and lots and lots of re-runs!

This book does a great job giving *DETAILED* descriptions of each of the episodes from Season 4, as well as the first few episodes of Season 5.

This latest official guide to one of the top shows on television outdistances the previous books by Brian Lowry because of its in-depth synopsis of each episode of the fourth season....A perfect companion piece to the previous books, the only drawback is the black and white pictures...but the poster included with the book shows a nice history of the first four seasons of the show... This is a good resource for casual fans of the show who may have missed an episode along the way and the rabid fans who watch the show religiously.. Highly recommended for casual and rabid X-Philes alike.

This is a very vivid guide to The X-Files in their earlier seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and discovering all the interesting facts that this book had to give. I am a fan of The X-Files and I have watched the show for five years. I think this is a very good literary work. If you like The X-Files, I highly recommend this!

I was very excited about the looooong episode summaries. These are great for catching up on episodes you (sadly) may have missed. I'm really glad they added the 5th season premiere so as to add to the continuity. My only complaint: the pictures are black & white! We want to see Mulder's smiling (yeah, right) face in color! Other than that, I highly recommend this book for anybody from the remotely interested to the fanatic like me. Great book!
