Good Devotional Book for Young Adult, (Adults will enjoy it too), May 19, 2006
This review is from: Want More? Joy (Brio Devotional) (Spiral-bound)
Is there a difference between joy and happiness? Jeanette Hanscome knows there is. Born with achromatopsia, a rare vision affliction, she had trouble learning colors, as well as other visual problems. No one, teachers, or doctors, expected her to have good prospects for a normal life. However, there are no limits to what God can do. With His help Jeanette graduated from high school, went on to college, and lives a full, happy life. She has written a book for young adults, using anecdotes, humor, and questions to lead the reader to a greater understand of how to handle the problems teens face every day, in school, or at home. You'll find discussions on tough subjects, like anger, hurting others, worry, and forgiveness. The reader will come away with a better understanding of joy and how to attain it. There is even room for journaling and a daily prayer page. This is an excellent devotional book for the young person on your list.

Loved it!, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Want More? Joy (Brio Devotional) (Spiral-bound)
I bought this devotional a while ago and loved it! It has very inspirational stories that all teen girls can relate to. Then, there's questions to help you think about stuff happening in your life and why you feel a certain way. I loved it! I'm a teenage girl and this was exactly what I needed. I fully recommend it to any teenage girl who needs a devotional book or is looking for God.
