Book Description

September 22, 2003 0805961801 978-0805961805
After three years in foster care, Robin R. Shaw is adopted by an unusual family: His new mother is wheelchair-bound, as is one of his new brothers. The other brother is Japanese. Two sisters are Japanese, too, and two more are Korean. Despite the love of his new family, Robin desperately wants to find his birth mother – had she really abused him when he was an infant? As soon as he turns eighteen, Robin sets out to search for her. This book details that relentless, passionate search and its unexpected denouement.

1.0 out of 5 stars I agree. Save your money., February 22, 2005
This review is from: I Want My Mommy (Paperback)
I wish I had seen a review before I picked up a copy of this book. I thought it would be an interesting read at first but the book is a little to hard to finish. The story the author tells is a little far fetched if you know what I mean and his style of writing is grade school at best. Over all I gave this book just one star and advise you to save your money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice try but hard to finish., February 16, 2005
This review is from: I Want My Mommy (Paperback)
I thought that this would be an interesting read at first but the book is very hard to finish. Sometimes it felt like I was reading my son's old book reports for school. The subject matter is good but the author's skill as a writer needs a great deal of work. I didn't feel like the author was trying very hard and I wish I'd have saved my money.

1.0 out of 5 stars not well written, January 13, 2010

I thought it was a good story, and would probably be a great selling book if it had been written by an experienced author. I felt like it had been written by a grade school age child. It needed more details and a more adult vocabulary.
