4.0 out of 5 stars Great story... awfull editing August 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Wanted: husband surprised me. I was expecting a silly romance with not much substance, as is often the case in "cheaper" books, but I thought the caracters were well defined and the story was really cute.
However, I kept getting distracted by the typos and errors. Maybe some of the typos occured as part of the conversion to Kindle format (like the quasi-constant use of be instead of he), in which case somebody should have reread it before release. Some other errors were homophones that should have been verified (the use of than instead of them, of bear for a beer, to name a few).
Overall, I still think that this was a good story, but I don't know if I would elect to spend money (even as little as 2.99) on another book by this author, as she does not seem to realise that the quality of language in a book affects our perception of the story.
If there was a "reedited" version, as I have seen in other ebooks, I would encourage others to try this smart, cute love story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wanted: fun read, another story by Miramar Inn... August 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really liked the premise behind this book. Story is about Carrie, who is a cop in LA, but decides to take a job in the very small town of Moss Beach as chief of police. Story takes place where Lonely Millionaire, another of Carol Grace's books takes place, so we get to see previous characters (Mandy, Adam and Mandy's sister Laurie). Carrie's reasons for taking the job were to get away from the danger of LA, but mostly, to be away from Matt, her current partner, the man she was in love with. Like many have noted, the book has many editing issues, typos, use of incorrect words, etc. If you can overlook this, then this is a good story to read. I have read a few books by this author and have become used to the editing problems so they don't bother me as much. I really like her story plots, her characters are well developed and stories are usually sweet and cute so I keep coming back! But if editing is a pet peeve, I suggest you try other books.

Anyway, Carrie goes to this town, but she lets everyone believe that she is engaged, only problem was she dneed to find a fiance. In her quest for a fiance, Matt volunteers to help her. Carrie has mixed feelings, she wants the job badly, but being around Matt for two weeks would make forgetting him and saying goodbye even harder. They arrive at the small town and Carrie is loving it. She is having a good time, and Matt is by her side playing the perfect fiance. Matt was hoping that Carrie would get bored and would go back with him, he even tried to sabotage her job. Soon they find themselves too deep into their pretend engagement and things get complicated.

Story was cute, characters were great and story was sweet. I loved revisiting some of the old characters from her previous books. If you are looking for something fun and light, this is a good choice, but if editing is a problem, then I suggest something else.

An enjoyable romance novel. A little cheesy for me but overall ok. I've bought her other books and got a good read from them.

4.0 out of 5 stars An easy read
The book is easy to read, good for a relaxing time. Nothing too complicated, maybe somewhat predictable, but that is why it is easy and relaxing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Last book I read from Carol Grace ...better
This book was a quick read but was not as entertaining as "The Lonely Millionaire" . I did like the fact that she brought the two books together...Just was not as impressed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wanted: Husband
This book had poor grammar and spelling errors throughout. I have read many books of hers and this was the worst yet for spelling errors and use of wrong words.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was ok
The part where he hides her shoes and humiliates her with having to wear sneakers with a suit is really lame. Not sure I want someone like that loving me. Read more

I enjoyed Wanted: Husband. Granted it's not the most original and the editing got distracting at certain parts but it didn't really take away from the story. Read more
