Book Description

Silhouette Intimate Moments May 1, 2004
After his wife's mysterious death, Ethan Harrison was a man living under suspicion. With two young sons to shield from gossip and lies, Ethan decided to move to the town of Devil's Cove, where no one knew about his past. But he never planned on opening his heart to love again -- till he met the indomitable Hannah Brennan.

Hannah's job was to turn the grounds of Ethan's new home into lush gardens, but she soon found herself falling for the handsome yet enigmatic widower. When Hannah's life was suddenly in danger, could she trust him to tell her the truth about his past -- and their future?

This is #2 in Devil's Cove.

Silhouette Intimate Moments #1291, May, 2004.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hannah & Ethan, August 26, 2007

This review is from: Wanted (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1291) (Mass Market Paperback)
This, so far, is the best of this series. Although it suffers from being written as a series, so time is wasted on stuffing in extra characters to tie it to the other spin-off books, the author's real experience with children makes the sons of Hannah's love interest, Ethan, charming and delightfully real. Paired with that, Hannah is not given some failed love to be bitter about and overcome, which would have made her a negative character. Instead, Hannah is one of those refreshing positive people who loves her job, loves her family, and loves herself. It makes us, as readers, like her, and it makes the other characters in the book gravitate to her smile. Her employees like her, her family likes her, and the kids like her (done in a very realistic way).

Ethan, unlike most typical male romance characters, isn't negative or mean. He levels with Hannah instead of doing nasty things just to push her away. He is also fun to read about and a good father.

On top of that the plot of this novel flows well. The mystery side of the story isn't too unbelievable, and most importantly, when push comes to shove nobody does anything overwhelmingly stupid.

I'd recommend this book. It's not high literature, but it's enjoyable and won't insult your intelligence.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother with This One!, July 13, 2004

This review is from: Wanted (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1291) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was the worst Intimate Moments that I've read in a long while. The villain was painfully obvious from the moment the character was introduced. The hero's first wife died, in part, because he didn't listen to her concerns, writing her off as paranoid. A man who ignores his wife's fears just doesn't appear very heroic to me. Finally, the hero's youngest son talks with a lisp which grew more irritating and less endearing as the novel progressed.
