I am reading this book for the second time. There is so much insight for women my age (between 20 and 35ish) and the things in life we deal with as women and Christians. The first two chapters are a little harder to get through but after that I can't put it down. What woman is not desperate for significance, beauty, the supernatural, etc.?? Taber beautifully explains our identity in Christ as the answer to these longings we feel as young women. I plan on doing a young adult ladies study out of it in January. Great read- poignant and relevant.

Wanting All the Right Things by Shirin Taber is a well written book for Christian women between 18 and 35 years of age. Taber describes the difficult and unfair position this third generation of liberated women have been assigned. It is not only impossible to fulfill all the dreams and rights they were born to but it is unhealthy to strive to. No one can be a high powered executive, a perfect homemaker and mother, a volunteer citizen and a sane and healthy person at the same time. Taber helps women realize and make healthy choices and goals which are attainable without burn-out and break-down.

I went to pick up this book today and I'm already hooked. Its just amazing! Its like my title says: Wanting All The Right Things and Getting All the Right Answers! Till now all the insecurities and questions that Ive had lately have been manifested in this book and I just started reading it, so who knows what will happen as soon as I finish reading it.

Truly recommended for those early twenties women, christian women, college freshmen, college softmores and seniors. The truths and advices in there are as good as my mother's.

Being a baby boomer I read the first couple chapters and almost decided not to read it...until I got to chapter two...then I read it straight through! Women over 40 can benefit hugely from reading this book! It is insightful, thought-provoking, and challenging for the mentor-aged woman to get in touch with the younger generation of women seeking to find themselves and their place in today's society. Shirin's recounting of her own and others' personal journey, struggles and victories and the 'handles' she gives to identifying every woman's quest are sure to touch a chord in whatever generation you are. The insight questions for each chapter and discussion questions in the back of the book are ideal for exploring the spiritual truths identified throughout the book and to help us explore our minds and hearts - and God's heart for us - in a meaningful and practical way. Kudos, Shirin!!!
