Rating: 8/10 PROS: - Rhodes does a good job of delving into characters' heads and really examining how they're thinking and why they feel the way they do. - I always find this author's sex scenes really hot--mostly because she tends to create characters who have been secretly pining for each other for years, so when they finally get together, it's emotional and explosive. - I really like Al, Ben and Jeremy's roommate. He's blunt, accepting, and disarmingly charming. CONS: - It caught me by surprise when Jeremy finally confessed that he wanted Ben for as long as Ben would have him. The reason, I think, was that I had seen proof of Jeremy's soul-searching about his sexuality and his attraction to Ben in particular, but I hadn't seen Jeremy admit, even to himself, that he really wanted something long-term. - There are some cliché remarks throughout the story about being true to yourself, family not having to be born into, etc. Overall comments: This is a simple story about someone who's closeted working up the courage to admit his feelings for his best friend. It's not complicated or terribly original, but I liked the characters and thought that it was definitely worth a read.

Very Good Story,
By Toby (New York and Aspen Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wanting (Kindle Edition)
I enjoyed this book very much, I travel a great deal and therefore am very appreciative to good authors and only give five stars to those I believe tell a good story, have a great ending and have me wanting more. I don't always need all the sex or blood and gore, sometimes a romance, a love story or a drama is what I need. I highly recommend this book. And have recommended it to our book club in New York and Aspen,..I also recommend reading....The Boy He Loved - Obsession Into Darkness (Gay Suspense), Reflections In The Looking Glass - A Murder Mystery That Will Surprise you (Gay Murder Mystery), My Gay Socks (Gay Romance)and From Boys to Men (Gay Classic), you may also want to read,The Crane & Pelican (Gay Romance).

Loved it!,

I am new to openly exploring my bisexuality. As a middle aged man I found it very encouraging for people who seek to find comfort in their sexuality later in life than many of our youth are doing today. This was my first book in this genre but loved it!!! Since then, I have read 2 more by same author. A must read!!

A nice short story,
This review is from: Wanting (Kindle Edition)
This is a fast reading short story about a young man coming to grips with his own sexuality. The story addresses some of the issues associated with coming out. I agree with the other reader who said the story could have developed the characters more. The plot also could have been more developed. it was enjoyable reading for an afternoon diversion. It is definitely a short stor and not a novel.

I read this book over a couple of days of casual reading. It was enjoyable and I looked forwarded to picking it back up. The pace of the story feels rushed and I am not sure of the need of the story line with the father. The book just sort of ended for me with no real finality. While this did fit the timing in the story line it just felt very abrupt. There was so much build up and then at the just at the climax it ended. I'm not sure I would read this author again.

Wanting a Bit More,

I was wanting a bit more; the story was short & sweet, however I felt the "what he thinks, he thinks" was a bit redundant and it was lacking a bit in the sexual build up. I think I would have enjoyed the story more if instead of the morning aftermath, it started a couple of weeks prior to the "Big Night". Sexual Tension is always better then the morning after jitters...

I loved the inner thoughts of Ben and Jeremy. I love the typical but realistic misunderstandings they have around one another. I was blown away by some of the confessions they said to one another. Mostly because the author makes it seem like it's one way, but then throws a curve ball at you.
On the negative side to that, the author does this around three times and makes it almost makes it seem as though the author changed her mind on how see wanted a curtain thing and didn't want to go back and rewrite over an already wonderful inner thought one of the characters were having. However, it is by no means badly done and so very easy to go on with the book or not even notice. I'm just very picky. Al is awesome, even if you don't like anything else about this book (which I wouldn't even begin to understand because it's great) you will love Al. There are some very cheesy lines or morals-to-the-story parts that makes you want to role your eyes, but you'll have a little smile while you do it. Overall: worth it!

Well written, short, sweet and sexy. Important to note this is more of a long short story than a short novel.

always love friends who get to know each other over the years, realize that they mean more to each other than mere friendship, and it grows into love. The sex scenes are very steamy & this is one book I constantly return to :)
