Wanderful collection of traditional Scottish/Irish Music.,
By piperj@nconnnect.net (South eastern Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wanton Fling (Audio CD)
The whistlebinkies Wanton Fling is a wanderful combination of Fiddle, bagpipes Gaelic singing, Irish flute, and snare drum. In a world of Celtic music it is hard to find good non synthisized music. I myself am a piper and a player of multiple traditional instruments, and it keeps me listening, I'm going to order the CD because I wore out the tape!

Great Celtic music!,

I've been a fan of the Wistlebinkies since I carried two records home to the U.S. from a concert they gave in Inverness. The music is like the Chieftans with an edge. "A Wanton Fling" is one of their best! Looking forward now to getting my hands on their latest.

Simply beautiful music!,
This review is from: Wanton Fling (Audio CD)
This is a wonderful collection of Celtic music. Many of the songs are beautiful, and the musicianship is first rate. The female vocalist is superb! The Taladh (lullaby) sung by her is worth the cost of the album. Yes, the piper selections are sometimes loud and repetitive (what is the difference between a bagpipe and a chainsaw? A chainsaw has more dynamic range), but are so well done that even they grow on you. This recording is a must for anyone who likes very melodic celtic music.
