Besides being biased on this artist because of having lived in the congo where the artist originates, this is truly a piece of work. his voice is fluid, and soothing, songs ranging from slow ballads in munukutuba and lingala, to upbeat songs in french and english. if you're not too hot on one song, go to the next track, and i'm sure you'll find something you'll like. great background music, and with a touch of jazz in there somewhere. if you're into hearing a rare form of music from africa, go for it.

Shadow dancer,

Among contemporary Congolese musicians, Lokua Kanza stands out in a class of his own. In a BBC radio interview, he made it known that Papa Wemba inspired him. All at once, Papa Wemba's 'Emotions' came to mind. Lokuo's free-flowing multilingual melodies, coupled with a serious intonation of jazz, are so captivating that you hate to stop listening to them. With this sort of music, he will never look back.
