The Executioner # 1: War Against the Mafia (Mack Bolan), October 12, 2009
This review is from: War Against the Mafia - The #1 Executioner (Mass Market Paperback)
War Against the Mafia, book # 1, Don Pendleton, March 1969.
This is the very first of the Executioner series. This is the beginning of it all. You find out why Mack Bolan does what he does, how he starts down this path, insite into how he thinks and what he feels. You learn about his family. You find out about his background and how old he is. He finds a very good friend in the most unlikely place and even falls in love. If you like Mack Bolan you have to read this book, written by Don Pendleton himself, in his unique style. It brings a greater understanding to this character: Mack Bolan.
From the back cover: No one before has ever dared defy the Mafia.. but the Executioner not only defies them, he kills, maims and tries to destroy them piece by piece, with his Vietnam-trained tactics...using his knowledge of jungle warfare in his one-man crusade to wipe out the evil web of organized crime in America. Mack Bolan is not the usual hero...this is not a pretty tale...it's not for the squeamish or the weak of heart...but it will thrill you with the audacity of this underdog, fighting odds no one believes he can survive...let alone win!
