Liz and Dan Krieger know more history than anyone else on the Central Coast and this book is a fine example of why they are so loved in San Luis Obispo County, California. Check this book out for a very personal insightful look at how the big war affected the lives of the folks back home.

This was a great book. I enjoyed the look into how the lives of the Japanese-Americans were effected by World War II.

Great book! Very interesting look at the development of the California Central Coast from a sparsely-populated remote agrarian based land to what we see now. If you want to gain some perspective on just how much the second world war changed our society, this book provides a great documentary by offering a close-up look at a cross-representation of this transformation seen across the US, and a good look at the generation that lived through those times. This is important history and shows how far we have come from the not-so-distant past. Am currently looking for volume 2.
