This review is from: War Experiences in Rural Germany: 1914-1923 (Legacy of the Great War) (Paperback)
This book details the general experience of how the population in rural Bavarian dealt with the declaration of war by Germany. The book goes into detail about the attitudes of the population when the soldiers returned home after the conflict and how many were incorparated into post-war Germany. The issues surrounding how the population reacted when news of the dead reached the home front is also examined.
Overall this is an excellent book dealing with the attitudes and effects of the Great War on rural southern Germany. |
