This is a primary resource for the war with Mexico. I am writing a novel based substantially on his historical details. Greatly impressed that he interviewed one of the Chapultepec cadets that fought in the battle; he visited the sites of the major battles. Extensive footnotes. He is referenced by many writers. General Taylor's movements covered in Vol. 1. General Scott's campaign covered in Vol. 2. These are collector's items if they can be found!

se trata de una obra indispensable para todo aquel que pretenda ser estudioso del conflicto México-estadounidense de 1846-1848, es elemental su lectura, para empezar a comprender la injusta guerra impuesta por el poderoso vecino del norte a su debil, desunido, con 25 años apenas como nacion independiente, desgarrado por las eternas luchas entre conservadores y liberales, atizadas por el satan J. Roberts Poinsett, quien como representante de su gobierno solo vino a sembrar discordia entre hermanos,vecino del sur, me parece que al fin a la vuelta del milenio, ya las verdaderas historias de los conflictos humanos se empiezan a relatar como fueron, asi tenemos como ejemplo "la caida" y que respecto a la guerra de 1846-48 se imprima toda la verdad, aunque esta resulte muy vergonzosa y embararazosa y todo lo que termine en osa para nuestros queridos primos del norte.
