CD obviously made from tapes/cassettes. Part 1 plays for some time and then is interupted with the beginning of part 2. After a bit the recording picks up with Part 1 where it was interrupted and then goes back to play the end of part 2. I sent back the first CD and requested a replacement which was received timely. But it is the same as the first. I would like to have a GOOD (sequential) recording (CD),not just another of the faulty recordings.

First this is a section of raw history. Remember at the time this was broadcast you had radio and newspapers as the only national news source. Breaking news came over the radio and you read about it in the morning or evening. The only thing you let in your house at night that you didn't trust was -- NOTHING. People being people it is easy to see why the panic. Again, it was performed perfectly but with disclaimers at the beginning, in the middle and at the end. Mercury theater was always on at this time and they put on all kinds of stories, scripts and books, total theater. Now of course we would not fall for such a thing! Yet, I suggest you listen to this production. Turn off the lights, phones, televisions, radios, computers of all types and pretend your player is a radio. Put yourself in a state to be entertained simply at the end of the day. Then just listen. You may find yourself looking out the window or going to the door. Or you may have the urge to call someone, or text or e-mail or you may just start to listen more closely to the noises outside. But before you get carried away remember it is all done in fun. Excellent piece that I highly recommend!

I remember this broadcast years after it was broadcasted.... A junior high school topic which I really enjoyed. The sound is great and will bring you back to the time of it's first broadcast. Enjoy it as I do.....
