I first read War Day when it was first published in 1985; my close ties with it was having lived in San Antonio Texas and knowing the high target probability if an attack were to have taken place. This book was well written and Whitley Strieber described his journey quite well. Now fast forward to present time and having read One Second After and the Road, needless to say it puts life in perspective. If your into reading about the after affects of post-apocalyptic events this will be a start in the right direction, it makes one think long and hard about what one would do to survive and take it to the next step.
