The War of Wars,

This review is from: War of the Worlds (Audio CD)
I dubbed this the war of wars simply because if it had come true, we probably wouldn't be piddling around with our petty squabbles. Oh wait, that thought came from "The Day the Earth Stood Still. (1951)" Oh, well, it still applies. Welles' original book grabbed the reader by the brain and hung on like glue. This audio version grabbed people by the ears and scared whatever you wish to fill in this blank ______________ with out of them. This is an authentic uncut reproduction of the original Orson Wells radio program. The way he had the orchestral music playing only to be interrupted by special news bulletins was most realistic back then. TV was barely getting started. Without visuals, the imagination was brought into full swing and into overtime. WotW is a classic piece of entertainment history and is still worthy to be heard today. It has long been one of my favorites in its original radio format and in the three film versions I have. Give it a listen and let your mind do the imaging.
