5.0 out of 5 stars Journey through an America changed, October 7, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Warday (Paperback)
I first read of Jim and Whitley's journey through a war-torn America in 1987, and it is STILL a riveting novel. Their travels and the stories told within are more than adequate reason to press for continued nuclear disarmament. Read it now

4.0 out of 5 stars Even outdated, still a great book, August 5, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Warday (Paperback)
It's funny how quickly some things change. This book was one of the most scariest books I had ever read, not five years ago, when the US and Russia were pointing their nukes at each other- but now, this book just goes to show how paranoid we were about the cold war. Still, this post-war journey is still a sobering look at how things COULD have very easily turned out not to long ago..
