I have a red-eared slider in a 120 gallon aquarium. Over the last 4 years, since she was the size of a cookie, I've tried numerous types and brands of food. The Wardley sticks are, hands down, the winner. The turtle, now about a foot long and still growing in tiny increments, loves them and they also create the least mess so we're both happy! Other sticks and pellets crumbled quickly and made a huge mess which was no fun for myself who had to clean the mess or the turtle who had to swim in that. Her behavior indicates that she prefers this food to the other brands I've tried. She has been reluctant to eat some other foods and has even refused some yet she splashes for attention and swims right over to gobble it up when she sees me with this container in hand.
. My turtle does occasionally enjoy other foods like dried river shrimp, krill pellets, and even goldfish but the Wardley sticks are her main and daily diet that clearly keep her very healthy and happy. I always buy the big containers since they store so well and can therefore be stocked to reduce frequency of yet another errand in my schedule.

I have three Red Eared Sliders. I have tried different brands but they like this brand the best. I like purchasing the large container because it lasts for months. This is the only food I give them. I tried the shrimp but it just ended up in the filter as they did not eat it.

Food Sinks and collects at bottom and partially disintegrates...Makes a mess. turtles didn't like it much either. Filter can't process the big chunks until it really breaks apart. I was disappointed and cancelled my regular subscription

This is a great product, I've used it for 15+ years. The product used to be available in appx. 2.5 pound boxes, because it was not readily available in that size I purchased a competitors brand more often. The vendor and service were great. The shipment arrived on time and in a clean box unlike some of the other vendors who don't take much care in how the appearance of the product is once the shipping carton is opened.

The best there is!,

My turtles LOVE these sticks! They go after them as soon as I put them in the water. They don't do this with any of their other food. With multiple foods and snacks in the water, they will slowly go around sniffing every little crumb they can find, ignoring everything else and greedily snatching any leftover pieces of these sticks.
It is also the ONLY aquatic turtle food I've purchased that has calcium! Why, when we all know turtles need calcium, does so little of their food have it?? Why should we have to purchase those chalky calcium "treats" that leave gritty deposits everywhere? My red-eared sliders are perfectly healthy, not covered in a chalky calcium residue, growing very quickly and very happily eating these sticks as their primary food.

I've had my turtles (red-eared sliders) for over 10 years, and I've fed them almost exclusively Wardley reptile sticks (with a few table scraps -- Romaine lettuce, tunafish). My critters have grown steadily, and are active and healthy. You can't ask more than that from a pet food.

Came from using reptomin and was looking for a cheaper alternative and came upon this product. I gotta admit that at first my turtle was also skeptical but now he loves this stuff and so do his tank mates. I highly recomend this product for it's price and it's quality. Amazon did an amazing job shipping this to me as fast as possible, class A service.

As far as turtle food, most of them turn the water green and make it smell nasty if the turtle doesn't eat absolutely every piece. I took the advice of a fellow turtle owner who let me know that this product is quite a bit better on that account and found him to be correct. The "sticks" are easy for any of my 4 turtles to grab and appetizing enough that they are excited to see the can. It also comes in a nice large size and is affordable. I'm not aware on the benefits of this product nutritional value-wise, but on other elements it's definitely the best food I've fed my turtles.

I bought this for my turtle and she loves it. It took her about 24 hours to know the contaner and now she swims right to the top of the tank when she sees it.

Good Basic Turtle Food,
I switched from Tetras turtle food to this one after the manager at the pet store told me that it was essentially the same, just a little cheaper.
My turtles don't seem to notice much of a difference. They have hearty appetites and this is their staple food, other nourishing snacks are also on their menu. |
