This review is from: Warfare in Ancient Greece: A Sourcebook (Routledge Sourcebooks for the Ancient World) (Paperback)
Although not a large volume, Sage's book is a great substitute for hours of research. He extracts information on equipment, tactics, and organization from multiple ancient records (Thucydides, Arrian, Xenophon, Homer, etc) and uses them to create a very thorough picture of ancient warfare and ancient armies.
