Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Not the best title in the world, we'll admit, but Wargasm is an eye-popping, addictive, and incredibly challenging action/strategy hybrid from the military masters at Digital Image Design. Though there are a few hardcore types out there who might be able to get through the game without any help, the rest of us could certainly benefit from the tactics and advice put forth in Prima's guide to the game. Beginning with a discussion of the game's complex (i.e., flawed) controls, the book goes on to discuss the intricacies of controlling each type of unit in the game--tank, foot soldier, and attack chopper. A chapter on general tactics suggests methods for getting the most out of your troops--and suggests ways to assemble the most effective mix of troops in the first place. Once you're ready to enter the World Wide War Web, the book will help you conquer each of the seven segments of the map, beginning in Africa and wrapping up the campaign in the deadly virtual landscapes of North America and Russia. A lengthy chapter on the quick-action game variant offers tons of advice for progressing through the levels, while a section entitled...umm..."Multiple Wargasm" outlines the basics of the multiplayer game. At the end of the book, you'll find one very welcome cheat code and a table of weapon statistics.
