4.0 out of 5 stars What really really means being an Ultramarine
The 4th company of the Ultramarines is an old favorite of novels, and again they're sent to action.

Recovering from a brutal campaign against the Tyranids, Sgt Learchus (acting as captain due to Ventris being away in personal quest) receives orders to find a missing ship "Gulliman's Honor". What they will find is an hidden enemy that nobody expected, in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Could be much better
OK admit it..if you are a fan of the author,or w40k, you will buy this just to see the objects of your interest in a full color story. This story does tie in with the new Ultramarines novel. However sound the story is, the writing could have been much better. Toomuch of the "For the Emperor, and Guillimans oath ! kinda stuff going on. Now to the art..the covers are...

However sound the story is, the writing could have been much better. Toomuch of the "For the Emperor, and Guillimans oath ! kinda stuff going on. Now to the art..the covers are always great in this ongoing effort.however the story art seems mass produced and washed in...no attention to detail. Ihave bought all of the offferings in this series, and have been impressed with none of them. Take the time and do it right.

4.0 out of 5 stars What really really means being an Ultramarine, February 10, 2011

What they will find is an hidden enemy that nobody expected, in numbers and power that could mean the loss of a world.

The Ultramarines aren't just adeptus astartes...they have particular links with the inhabitants of their empire. they aren't just aloof demigods - they are the protectors of mankind. That leads to choices, sacrifices and inhuman efforts.

Interesting (although simple) story from Graham McNeill, with signature characters from de WH40K universe and with tie-ins to the current timeline. The art is regular (except the cover gallery wich is quite good) and action packed, the battles fast and furious. In the end you will have news on Uriel Ventris!
