it's really a comic book or a short graphic novel. I actually expected something a bit longer. The story wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. The art was pretty good. It's somewhat pricey for 30 minutes of reading entertainment...

I truly enjoyed this, I just wish I had read it prior to Condemned by Fire witch takes place after this book leaves off. The story is not long and I wish it would have gone deeper into the prior battle friendships, alliance and prep of the combatants. In doing so you might have gotten an extra five to six pages, but the story would have been so much more captivating. The illustration are done very well, but because of the smaller size of the editon the detail does not come out as well. Overall if you are a fan of Warhammer or fantasy stories the book will keep you glued. I only have one complaint a wish for Boom comics to put out more graphic novels on the Fantasy side rather than the 40,000 line.

Not only Introducing you to Sargeant Vogel of the Greatswords of Averheim...,

But also to the Warhammer world. This graphic novel presents you the empire and the northern chaos invaders, the race of men and dwarves (including their peculiar way of thinking), several remarkably depicted characters like Sargeant Vogel or master Konig and even a limited glossary of geography, races and creatures for those readers that aren't familiar with the Warhammer world.
Knowing Dan Abnett as we readers know, he wouldn't think making a good intro would suffice...thus he created a very good plot with limited flashbacks, tridimentional characters, defeats and victories, sacrifices and betrayals. The violence of the warhammer world is patent in every page. It is truly a dark fantasy mood. Great colour plates, very good illustrations. Abnett, Edginton and Ekedal (and the rest of the team) must continue to make graphic novels like these. One demand please: make bird eye's views of the battles! It would be epic and complement very well the limited view of the characters.

This review is from: Warhammer: Forge of War (Paperback)
This is a graphic novel. I did enjoy it I read it immediately after opening my order from Amazon. The story was only average but the pictures did bring it to life better. I would recommend getting it if you like Graphic novels its not overly long only about 30-45 minute read.
