This game card doesn't hold back. It says 60 days and it delivers. I can appreciate a good game card that doesn't quit after 59 days. You should too.

I like to use time cards so I don't fall into the hole of having a game auto-billed to me every month on my credit card if I stop playing for a while since I know I can get lazy and forget to put my account on hold :)

This is actually just a game card (buying time for an online game) for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and the price isn't too bad if you don't have another way to pay. Also, many gift givers just don't know how to shop for and what to buy a gamer and this is a great way to buy a gift for someone who already has the game.
The card itself looks very much like a credit or debit card and is very attractive, but, um, who cares? Your only going to read the numbers off of it once and probably throw it away. Honestly, why not save yourselves some money guys and just print it on a piece of thin card? Probably due to marketing factors and cosmic consequences that I, as a mere mortal, am not privy to. As breif reveiw of the game: for Player vs. Environment (pve) play it's mediocre, but then it's not really geared for that. There are substantial rewards for pve play, but it's not why you should play the game. The real reason to buy is for Player vs. Player (pvp) and Realm vs. Realm (rvr) combat. Real people fight smarter, are sneakier than any AI and even if you get killed a dozen times in a row, the feeling of finally getting payback is not to be underestimated. It's very easy to find a group to rvr/pvp with and often there are groups for pve as well. The group finding mechanic is very well done. Gear gives a nice boost, but it's far from nessisary to be decked out in the best gear, unlike the play in other Mythic fare. In a predominately pvp environment, this is a must. The death penalty is almost nonexistant (which, again, in a game that's primarily pvp, is a must) and the looting system is vary inovative. The constant ebb and flow of rvr combat, with hundreds of players on each side struggling to capture territory is captivating but can also become exhausting (at least for an old dude like me) and so it's not for everyone and not for every day. This keeps the product from getting a 5 star rating from me.

Got this at Christmas for $19.95 which made it a bargain from the usual $15/month they are trying to gouge me for to play this game. Now that this is back up to $30 for 2 months, I have no idea why I would buy it from here instead of a brick and mortar store around the block.
The game is entertaining, a lot like WoW with a emphasis on PvP. They also seem to be trickling out features to keep things fresh, as a new character is being released soon, and look for levels over 40 to come later this year.

since you can now buy these time cards at Walmart, theres no reason to buy these from Amazon unless they start offering deals like they did at Christmas. By the time you add in your shipping, you are right back to the price it would cost to either buy a card from Walmart or use your credit card.

I realy enjoy this game. This game is all about pvp. I was not a pvp fan, but thought I would give it a try, and wow, the pvp and rvr experience in this game is like no other. I reccomend you try this game, but make sure you find a good guild to play with.

Warhammer is a fun game with a ton of potential developed by the creator of Dark Age of Camelot. I was expecting a game very similar to Dark Age in terms of the realm vs realm combat set in the Warhammer world.
What I got was a game that has many of the things that turned me off of World of Warcraft including a tiered PvE system and RvR combat that is more about fighting NPCs rather than other players. Something is just missing from what made Dark Age so fun to players for years. All that said, this was still the most enjoyable MMO released last year. I quit WoW to play Age of Conan which had a terrible release. Warhammer had a stable but buggy release. The lower levels are fun and you can level entirely in PvP if you choose. Hopefully Mythic can make necessary changes to keep Warhammer improving and growing in the months and years to come. |
