I've had my Waring Pro Grill 3 months and have cooked mostly meats, chicken and beef with very poor results. I find it to have hot spots where it burns the food in some places and uncooked it in others. Also it doesn't seem to have a constant temperature once you add the food. It cools way down and takes 2-3 minutes for the "ready" cook light to come back on. I've used several other types of indoor gills over that last 20 years. This is the first one I've had so many problems with.
Another thing is you have to be careful not to burn yourself on the metal top or sides. Cooking fluids also run down into the cooking element compartment creating a lot of smoke also making a mess inside the grill and on the counter top. I have to cut-on the kitchen vent fan to remove the smoke at times. I pretty much quit using the Waring Pro Grill in the last 30 days.
I normally don't write reviews on products but this one is so bad I felt compelled to do so. I had much better luck with gills costing 1/4 the price without the word "Pro" in the name. I do not recommend the Waring Pro Grill.
I'm 63 years old and have been cooking for 45 years.

I'm getting ready to retire, and am giving myself small appliances which will have smaller impacts on my kitchen, and my ability to cook something up. I can honestly say that in the less than month that I've had this, it's been used 5-7 times a week. It's good looking, quick to take apart and stick the plates into the dishwasher, and cooks evenly and quickly. From grilled cheese sandwiches to fried fish on one side and fried rice on the other, it has proven itself worth of my counter space. And considering I got it on a gold box deal for an even lower price - I am really pleased!

I had been researching indoor grills and was going to get a George Foreman. I visited Amazon and QVC to read other people's reviews of the indoor grills. I came across this grill and it had better ratings than the George Foreman's did. I saved over $60 by purchasing on Amazon compared to QVC and got the color I wanted. I have grilled hamburgers, thin chicken breasts, steaks and cuban sandwiches. I have not tried the griddle yet. It is amazing how quick it cooks. I learned that you need to have all your side dishes and condiments ready to go before you put the meat on the grill. If you use pre-made hamburger patties, they will be done in less than three minutes. As far as clean up goes, I find that once I'm done eating, the grill plates are still warm, but not too hot to handle. It is way easier to clean when they are still warm than when they are cold. Also, the grill marks on the top plate are not as deep as the bottom, so I now just put the seasonings on the top of the meat for easier clean up. Since the food cooks so quick, I have yet to have any grease go into the cup. The meat comes out so juicy since it cooks so quickly. My only complaint would be the amount of smoke if you use any type of marinades. I usually have to turn on my stove vent. The top is hinged so it can adjust to the thickness of whatever you are cooking. You will need to have a spatula to push the back of it up so that it does adjust to the thickness of whatever you are cooking. I almost lost my cuban sandwich when I pressed down because it did not automatically adjust like I thought it would do. Overall I am very pleased with it. I am using it a couple times a week.

I really like this grill. I have used for steak and chicken and they have all come out wonderful. I would definitely recommend this item to friends.

Only thing is to make sure you put the gills in properly so the top one doesn't come off while you are cooking.

I am glad I waited to purchase this type of grill. I have looked at several of these in the last two years but always held off. This one works great, is a breeze to clean and just perfect for two people.

I have been using this grill since December. I had a Foreman, but hated to use it because it was such a pain to clean. Had to kind of hold it on the edge of the sink to wash the non-removable plates. I ordered the Waring and wondered why I waited so long to replace the Foreman! It is so easy to cook burgers, steak, pancakes. . . And, even better, it is a breeze to clean. The plates are removable--even supposed to be dishwasher-safe although I have only washed them by hand. Just let them soak a little, then pretty much just wipe clean! I like the heat settings and ability to cook so many foods on it with the hinged lid and different plates. No complaints whatsoever!

Maybe it does "splatter" a bit when cooking burgers, but I love this grill. It works very well and, for the money (I paid $29.00 for the black one), was an absolute steal. Cleans up very easily. If it was tilted a little, rather than flat surface, I would have given it 5 stars.

Purchased this item because 1)it was deeply discounted. 2)There were two very positive reviews. The price was fair, but I would not buy it again. We wanted a larger unit with removable plates, which our old George Foreman unit didn't have. The size of the machine is fine; ample space in a reasonably small profile. But it lacks a timer that is part of the George Foreman and it cooks a lot slower. Also, the times in the recipe book for the Waring is not nearly as accurate as the Foreman. Sorry we bought this one. Should have waited till we got a deal on a George Foreman model.

I ordered two. When we received both of them, we found some broken in the bottom cover of the devices. I returned them today. I don't know if this product has the same problem. I will order again to see if the problem is the same.
