This grinder works and looks great.
Patricia Wood
If you semi-freeze (45 minutes, use a timer) small chunks or long strips of meat, they feed faster and the grinding speeds up a little.
P. Sidoli
It is fun and easy, and easy to clean.

After maybe grinding up 20 or so pounds of pork, the machine started to make internal noises and ceased to work. After pulling it apart I found cheap plastic gears that were stripped of their teeth. I can't find replacement parts online and I emailed manufacture no response yet. My advise spend some the extra cash and buy a STX, because that is what I will be doing soon. I'm sure if I get another set of gears it will only be a matter of time before they strip too.

I've been shopping for a meat grinder for awhile and ran across this model at Bed Bath and Beyond. This unit has a 500W motor instead of the lesser priced units that use paper shredder motors. It powers through beef likes its nobody's business. I ground an entire 6lb brisket into hamburger in about 2 minutes. Great unit, nice finish, reversable motor, cast aluminum throat and pan. Solid steel cutter blade and orifice plates (3). Also comes with two different sausage nozzles so you can make your own brats or breakfast sausages. Paid $79 at BB&B. Great unit for the price.

Update: After a year, I was grinding up some partially frozen beef into hamburger and the internal gears stripped out. I dissected the unit and found cheap plastic gears. I tossed this Waring into the trash and bought a LEM 1/4" horsepower unit from Academy. It's a beast!

I had mine for a year and ground 5 deer with it but the die cast parts began to peel it,s luster coating so it wasn`t usable . I bought it at Lowes and bought a 1 yr warranty so they took it back with no problem and gave me another one .The grinder does do a great job and hopefully this problem won`t happen again .

I wanted to leave a review on the 2 nd grinder that replaced the first one , I ground half of a deer and the gears broke so the auger would not turn made plenty of noise too . So I took it back to Lowes and got the money back decided to look for another brand instead .

A friend had one of these. We were fortunate enough to be able to try it out before we bought it. It was great! We have used ours. I love being able to make ground meat and sausages with wholesome ingredients no additives, preservatives, etc. We have been using it most recently with venison. The recipes that we have tried that are in the manual are great. We also have tried others we like to. It is fun and easy, and easy to clean.

I wouldnt actually call it a professional grinder. It worked well the first time I used it, However, the second time it kept clogging up to the point where I quit and got out my food processor. The recipe said to use the fine grind attachment; it clogged up even the large one. I'll try one more time; and, if it keeps doing what it done the second--it will go on the shelf as an almost ran. Purchase with caution.

I received this as a gift for my birthday this year along with a sausage stuffer. This grinder is amazing - and at this price - it's a must for the occasional sausage maker. I usually make 5-6 pound batches of sausage and this grinder makes very quick work of it. I don't even cube my meat anymore, I just cut it into strips and let it fall on through. It takes mere minutes to grind up to 6 pounds of meat. I'm not joking when I say it actually takes me longer to set up and clean the parts when I'm finished. I've used the grinder twice so far and I've had no issues whatsoever with anything. Some folks complain about rust developing on the grinding plates - but as long as you clean everything immediately after use and dry it thoroughly you'll be fine. I would not suggest using this to stuff sausages - I would invest in an actual sausage stuffer - and with the money you'll save buying this grinder you could easily do that.

This grinder does what it should but I found that when I make sausage Its better to run your product through it only once and select cutting plate size accordingly. cube meat in small pieces, combine meat and seasonings, mix well and run it through. It works fine for small amounts but would take along time processing large amounts. easy to set up, easy to clean, seems to be constructed well. This is my first electric grinder, I have only used the old fashioned manual grinders and this grinder is an improvement. Overall for the price, I believe its a good value

We used it for year and didn't use it that often, about three times. Then the gear broke and you can't get a new one. You can only get one by getting a engine and gear for the same amount you paid for the whole thing. Gears are made from plastic and can break easily.Waring MG100 300-Watt Meat Grinder, Brushed Stainless Steel
