5.0 out of 5 stars WOW what a machine!!
This blender is strong, powerful and FAST. The motor spins at 45,000 RPM and makes fast work of any blending job. The connection between the motor and blending jar is metal to metal (NO PLASTIC drive parts). The price is right, check out the warranty 3 years on motor and 2 years parts and labor, but it's built for commercial use and the way I use it - I expect it to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good blender questionable customer service
I purchased this in March 2011. The bottom bushing literally crumbled on me, not stripped but broke into three pieces, an obvious manufacturer's defect, which is warranted. However they would not be satisfied with a few pictures and proof of purchase, like so many manufacturers are going to. No, I am going to have to ship them at my expense to Connecticut because they...

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW what a machine!!, December 8, 2010

This blender is strong, powerful and FAST. The motor spins at 45,000 RPM and makes fast work of any blending job. The connection between the motor and blending jar is metal to metal (NO PLASTIC drive parts). The price is right, check out the warranty 3 years on motor and 2 years parts and labor, but it's built for commercial use and the way I use it - I expect it to last a long long time.

A huge advantage to me was the fact that it is only 18.5 inches tall (with the lid on, the 18" measurement is without the lid). This allows it to sit under my upper cupboards, neither the VitaMix or Blendtec would fit when assembled.

The motor has all the power you need, but is a bit noisy - I have to wait for a TV commercial or get dirty looks from my wife. Yet it is quieter than some other blenders because of the rubber cushion between the motor base and where the blending jar sits (which is removable and easy to clean).

The blending jar is big enough to really be useful. I like to make blender - ice cream - and can store a 7 days worth in the freezer from a single batch. While there is a hole in the top of the lid, I no longer use it as there is a certain splatter factor that comes with a blender that runs this strong and fast ;->

My blender ice cream, ½ cup of sugar free French vanilla coffee creamer, 1.5 cups of milk, ¼ cup Amaretto, frozen strawberries. I take out around 15 or 20 strawberries (depending on size) and allow them to partially defrost (still frozen in the center) this is necessary so it does not freeze up and not blend correctly with just a few berries. Put the milk, creamer and amaretto in the blending jar, add the partially defrosted berries, cover and blend, add milk if too thick to blend correctly. Once the concoction is blending smoothly add a couple hard frozen berries at a time to thicken as much as you would like. I use the reusable zip lock 1 cup plastic containers and fill about ¾ of the way to store in the freezer. Yummy

3.0 out of 5 stars Good blender questionable customer service, August 15, 2011
This review is from: Waring MX1050XT Xtreme Hi-Power Blender
I purchased this in March 2011. The bottom bushing literally crumbled on me, not stripped but broke into three pieces, an obvious manufacturer's defect, which is warranted. However they would not be satisfied with a few pictures and proof of purchase, like so many manufacturers are going to. No, I am going to have to ship them at my expense to Connecticut because they don't have a warranty center within 150 miles. Then wait the week for it to get there then however long they decide to take before replacing it and then a week back. This means I am looking at, most likely at least three weeks without a blender.

So although I have been, to this point, mostly satisfied with the overall unit, I would not recommend it to others that really depend on the blender. Like me I am not able to be without one in the heat and summer for three weeks I am going to have to go purchase another blender or carafe so I can have a spare. That is not good customer service. When this carafe is $100. I am better off going and purchasing a new Ninja blender as a side unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars do yourself a favor ... get a vitamix, August 20, 2011
This review is from: Waring MX1050XT Xtreme Hi-Power Blender
I bought this blender because my previous blender is the old waring blender and it has worked nonstop for years like a champ. Having changed my diet and becoming a raw food enthusiast/ vegan due to health reasons, I now depend on my blender and use it several times a day. I decided to upgrade to a high power blender. I thought I couldn't go wrong with this blender, having great experiences with my old one. It appeared to be comparable with Blendtec and Vita mix and a lot cheaper!!! Don't be fooled.

This blender completely stopped working after 11 months. The unit turns on but, nothing happens.... and customer service is non existent. I now have a $300 plus blender that doesn't work and have purchased a reconditioned vita mix for $397 and I got free shipping AWESOME!!!!

Comes with new tamper, 64 oz container and 30 day risk free full refund plus they pay for return shipping if your not satisfied and their unmatched 7 yr. FULL warranty. Do yourself a favor if your thinking of buying a high powered blender..... check out the vita mix before you buy.

Blendtec also has reconditioned units.
