The best Christmas present I've gotten in years,

I've long been interested in having a really great blender. Something that will crush ice, puree soup, make smoothies for breakfast or snacks and of course blend up a nice margarita. :)I looked at dozens of blenders, and finally chose the Waring bar model in stainless based on design, other reviews and power. The metal jar was also very important. I have always been afraid of breaking the glass on other blenders I have owned, and in fact have broken one. This blender is just lovely. It is loud, but because it is so powerful and simply *works*, you don't have to run it very long anyway. There are no plastic buttons to get sticky and goopy. One *metal* switch and two settings are plenty. Rather than the "turn to lock the jar in" method that most blenders use, this one drops in. You can't do it "wrong" -- it just won't go in if you have the canister turned the wrong way. The jar, which does need to be held steady with one hand, never kicks or bucks when crushing ice. You never feel like the machine is going to burn up or fly off the counter. And when you're done, you just grab the handle and lift it off, without fighting the locking mechanism -- because it doesn't have one. The simplicity of design and use is a very big part of why I love this blender, but the fact that it's metal is a huge plus. It keeps the drinks cold, it washes out *very* easily, even when doing hot stuff that would instantly stick to the glass jars of most blenders. My blender has never failed, never struggled, never even broken a sweat while performing any task I ask it to. It looks good, cleans easily and is easy to use. What more does anyone need in a blender? I can't think of a thing.

A name you can trust and have trusted for years. This blender does it all. weather you need 1 drink or 10 drinks. Problems crushing ice with your old blender? Not this one. I go through pounds upon pounds of ice a night and this blender doesn't even slow up.

This blender has been completely satisfying. It crushes ice consistantly and thoroughly. My smoothies alwalys come out like silk. I use the blender several times a day, and the motor hasn't burned out. The steel adds a unique touch while leaving me fearless of broken glass. And, the warrenty that comes with it is a comfort in the event I have problems with the unit. I highly recommend this product for it's quality, distinctiveness, and dependability.

I decided I needed to change my original review of this blender, as I ended up having to send it back. First the blade broke after having it a short time; then the motor began acting up. I elected not to get another like it, since it didn't hold up very well. I was terribly disappointed, especially because of the price and the fact that it was supposed to be professional grade. It could be that I just got a "lemon," but as you can imagine, I'm soured on this particular model now and don't want another one like it. Note that Waring told me they do NOT recommend using frozen fruit in this blender (and I didn't) -- so if you want to use it for smoothies (I didn't), then get a smoothie maker instead. Waring needs to do a redesign on the blades. I was surprised at how thin and tiny they are. This is supposed to be a professional bar blender, which should hold up to a lot of abuse. Well, after using it 10 times daily for two months, low and behold one of the blades broke clean off. Luckily, I happened to look in the bottom of the carafe before serving the drink to my husband, or he would have swallowed the broken blade! After paying ...for this blender, I was not amused, as you can imagine. When I called Waring, the best they could offer me was a new blade, which they did send out to me at no charge. They said they would install it for us if we wanted to send the blender in, but said that we could easily install it ourselves. Well, we got it on there, but I don't know about "easy." It's tough to get your hand down inside the carafe to reach it. I do use ice in the shakes I make, but have been very careful about adding one at a time. In fact, I even bought a special ice tray that makes really small cubes, just so it would be easier on the blender -- and the blade still broke. I really don't feel I can recommend this blender after my experience with it.

A Real Winner,
By A Customer
This review is from: Waring PBB25 Professional Bar Blender, Black and Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
This is the most powerful blender I've ever owned. Every morning I make a protein drink with frozen strawberries. I can only process this mixture a few seconds so the berries remain in small pieces and the drink isn't completely smooth.Any past blenders I've used had to work hard to incorporate the frozen berries, and I've had to blend the mixture repeatedly. Also I've been known to break glass carafes. There is no danger of this with the stainless steel container. I am extremely happy with the blender and recommend this product to anyone wanting to blend ice with their drinks, make smoothies, etc. I believe this blender will be with me for along time.

With family visiting for the holiday season and a burning desire for smoothies all round, I needed a good solid blender that would deal with ice, lots of fruit, Dacquiri-making and even soup blending without fuss. I ordered the Waring after a positive experience with one of their juicers, and seeing the good reviews here at Amazon. I wasn't disappointed - this blender is very well-made, easy to set up and use and has just the right features. Two speeds really is all you need! Ice and heavy fruit chunks are blended quickly and without overloading the powerful motor.I am glad I ordered the glass jug version over the stainless steel - I prefer to see how the blending is going - and the capacity of the jug is slightly larger too. I highly recommend this machine. I'm sure it will get a lot of use from me over the next few years!

Buff Blender,

I've found this Waring blender to be excellent for making a variety of drinks, as well as being helpful with food. But I really use it more for drinks. It's sturdy enough to handy thicker ice-cream drinks, but not so over-powering--it doesn't pulverize the ice in a margarita, which is nice because watery drinks aren't worth drinking. It also looks good, with a nice color, adding a little style to the counter it sits on. All in all, a solid and reliable appliance.

Great job with ice,

I need a blender for mixing fruit juice, a banana, a peach, a scoop of meal replacement powder (The Ultimate Meal), and most importantly, ice. I drink it after I work out. My old blender chopped ice terribly; I got tired of chewing little ice chunks, and getting "skull freeze" all the time, so I decided to upgrade. I was so glad I got this model, because I don't even notice the ice now. I can truly call my fruit drink a "smoothie". It's so much more delicious and enjoyable. It's also very easy to use, and cleanup is a snap. It costs more than other models, but I say it's well worth it.

The ONLY Blender to Consider,

Hi. If you're like me, you've killed more than you care to count blenders in your life time. You know that a good margarita requires finely chopped ice without lumps! You've probably cut up a few of those rubber things that come with the other blenders because you put it together wrong. It's embarrasing when your guest sees chopped up grey rubber in their margarita glass. Let's not forget the numerous parts to those other blenders and when your toddler runs off with one of the parts, never to be found again. Well, the Waring PBB25 Professional Bar Blender does away with all those unnecessary complications in your life. I ordered this blender and gave it to myself for christmas. Let me tell you, I love this blender! I love this blender! I love this blender! It's beautiful, it's a single unit with no parts (except for the lid), no rubber thingys, it's powerful, it's affordable, and best of all, it makes the best margaritas, the best chocolate shakes, and the best diet/protein shakes. The only problem is that my five kids love it as well. ;-)

Retro-Active!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Waring PBB209 Professional Food and Beverage Blender, Ebony (Kitchen)
When I saw this retro blender - I just had to have it... Now I Love it! It works so well - especially for smoothies. It crushed the ice without even a slight hesitation that cheap blenders give you. I love that it's all one piece, so there's no blender to take apart and clean. I just wash it and turn it upside down to dry. It looks really cool on the countertop too! It also has that heavy, old-fashioned feel that makes you feel like you are using quality.
