Cooling fan extremly noisy to the point of being distractive . Product returned to manufacturer for this reason.

The Waring Pro PC200 wine cooler looks very nice and it is compact. Unfortunately it only looks good, it makes such a noise that is like having a fan 10 inches from you head. Super noisy. It does a good job if you place it a closet. I like the independent temperature setting.
To summarize: good idea and style, poor job on the noise level. Returned to the store :(

Sounds like a rock crusher, but that is partly a concession to cooling two bottles simultaneously; the heat has to go somewhere. The cooling times stated were rather optimistic as well, even given the caveat in the instructions. A standard champagne bottle will not fit in mine. Placing a thermometer into a cork, and measuring the actual temperature reveals that the liquid inside can be considerably warmer than the temperature setting after the machine says that the cycle is complete ("Enjoy"). It measures the outside of the bottle, and then uses some figure to account for the bottle-to-contents gradient. Wrong number. It will eventually get there. It is quicker than the `fridge, maintains temperature fairly well during consumption, and does not use ice and/or water. Useful, but value for money is not particularly good.

This was given to me as a gift so I cannot return it. It is so noisy that I cannot even keep in in the same room with me. Do not buy this chiller unless you plan to keep it in a closet or the garage.

The Waring Pro Wine Chiller does everything you would want in such a product, and does it well, EXCEPT the fan is so loud you can't have it in the kitchen or on a bar and carry on a conversation--think a really loud hair dryer or an exhaust fan in a toilet area. I wonder what engineer thought this was a good idea? It is probably very efficient in drawing off heat, but not something anyone would want in his home. I suggest next time they try it out with a focus group before marketing it. This definitely needs to go back to the drawing board.

This product is excellent for reds, not so much for whites. Due to the induction process it just doesn't have the speed needed to take something to 40deg in any reasonable amount of time, but it can get your reds to 55-65 in a good time. Really makes a big difference in the flavors presented by the wine versus room temperature or fridge temperature.

I'm very happy with the purchase, I just have to use the fridge for my sweeter whites.

We often hold wine tastings at our home which is the reason we purchased it. The noise it makes while running was so loud that we had to shut if off so we could discuss the wines with our guests.

Another thing is that it doesn't shut off once the wine is cooled; it just keeps running with that annoying noise.

The wine chiller ... chills adequately but is extremely noisy. At first, I thought (hoped) that the noise would cease once the wines reached optimum temperature ... it doesn't. If it had, I probably would have just kept it as we have wanted one for some time and received this one as a wedding gift.
