Waring TG15 Tailgater Blender

Amazon.com

Before the teams take the field, this basic, one-speed, 12-volt blender gets the party going. Whip up margaritas, smoothies, and daiquiris or make dips for the chips right in the stadium parking lot. Waring is a respected name in blenders, so it's no surprise they were thoughtful enough to devise a bender that facilitates a movable feast. The key is the plug at the end of a 14-foot cord: it plugs into a vehicle's cigarette lighter. That means icy cocktails, ice-cream shakes, and other drinks can be fashioned on a tailgate or picnic table or anywhere a vehicle can go. The 6-cup, pitcher-shaped container is tough plastic so it can be dropped on asphalt without damage. Fully assembled, the blender stands 14-1/2 inches high on a 7-inch-diameter, bright chrome base. --Fred Brack

It does an average job with crushing ice to make frozen drinks. It can't be compared to a 125 volt AC blender however.
You get a few small chunks of ice in the drink.I had to buy a manual ice crusher to crush the ice first then you get the consistency most people like .This is as good as it gets for outdoor drink making unlees you go to the gas powered blenders.(That's next )

I purchased this blender to use on a boat. We tried to make milk shakes with ice cream, and the blender barely had enough power to slightly stir the ice cream. It was completely unable to blend the ice for blended drinks at all. I do not recommend this brand, and I am back to square one to try to find one that will do the job.

Just got this yesterday afternoon, so had to make my smoothie with it first thing this morning. Loaded it up with a frozen banana, three ice cubes, coconut water, some liquid vitamins, a scoop of protein powder and a scoop of raw coco powder, then took it to my car and turned it on! Worked Great!! There was only about two cups of product in the pitcher, but it zoomed through the ice and banana like they were not even there, formed a nice vortex in the middle while it was mixing, and in a minute I had my smoothie. Not as creamy-smooth as my Vita-mix, granted. The ice only got down to "slushie" level (no big chucks, just a grainy, but drinkable ice slush), but perfectly fine for my purposes.

Two things to note about this bad boy, the lid fits REALLY tight and has no knob on top to help you pull it off. I had to pry it up though the spout hole with the back of a spoon when I first opened it. Not a problem as long as you don't actually put it down into the pitcher all the way. I found it fit firmly enough to keep liquid from splashing by placing it lightly on top, which allowed me to get it off easily. They really should provide a knob for the lid.

The second thing is that the base of the pitcher screws on in reverse (NOT "Righty-Tighty"). I am sure there is a good reason for this that relates to the motor, etc, but it does require you to remember not to turn it counter-clockwise when you want to take it apart to clean it as you will be tightening the base, rather than loosening it. Arrows are molded into the bottom of the base to remind you, but they are the same color as the base so you may overlook them.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I would highly recommend this blender. If my opinion changes over time, I will revise my post.

Purchased this to use on my sailboat for drinks. It works pretty good but won't make slushies, rather it makes small chipped ice which is ok too! I later put in a 1000 watt inverter in the boat and could have used a regular blender which slush the ice a little better and are less money.

Terrible product .... I tried it in my boat and car using different power supplies and didn't work at all. Why ... Most blenders draw a lot of watts and unless you use a power inverter, you will never generate enough power to run it. Buy an inverter of 1000 watts or more first.

Most tailgate parties involve coolers and BBQ grills but if you want to kick it up a notch get a portable DC powered blender. A blender that plugs into a cigarette lighter? Oh yea baby ... this little jewel sits on my boats console, off the tailgate of my truck, and has come along on many Harley motorcycle rides. We all have coolers, and that's a good thing because ice is the main ingredient to making Margaritas and Daiquiris with this portable party machine. If there's a cigarette lighter outlet available, the bar is open. This is my second unit, my first one lasted over 15 years of incredibly rough and tumble use, mostly on my boat. No downside here folks, no glass to break due to a tough plastic mixing jar, and best of all, it's MADE IN THE USA!

We used this 12V blender on our family boat camping trip to make smoothies. Lots of power. I recommend.

Worked great and the cord was plenty long to use on the tailgate. Can't wait to use it camping! Fun!
