5.0 out of 5 stars simple, easy and professional quality wine opener
This is a great conservation piece and a super easy way to open a bottle of your favorite wine, it comes with a removable foil cutter, once you cut the foil, put the opener on the top of the wine, basically you press the down arrow to remove the cork from the bottle, and press the upper arrow to release the cork from the opener, the whole process takes about 15 seconds,...

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed
I wish I could give this a higher rating but am hesitant to do so. I was excited to receive this package in the mail...I loved the idea of opening a bottle of wine after a long, difficult day with just the push of a button. I will start off by stating the foil cutter works very well and this device has a nice little cubby to keep the cutter when not in use. The inside...

I was very impressed with this product, I bought another one for my father, he loves it too.

The inside workings seem to be made out of a cheap plastic. I have opened three bottles of wine I had in the fridge just to make sure before I gave a review. The first took at least five attempts to get the cork fully removed from the bottle. I decided I might not had charged the opener fully before use so I charged for 10 hours or more before using again. It did seem to work a little better the second and third time around but still requires two or three attempts for the cork to be removed or loosened from the bottle enough for me to then be able to remove the cork the rest of the way with my hand. Wish I could give this a better rating. I think this is a great idea but the one I purchased just does not seem to have enough power to remove the cork from the bottle properly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Recommend!!, January 1, 2010
This review is from: Waring Pro WWO100PC Professional Cordless Wine Opener
We bought one of these (not from Amazon) and used it without a problem for about 5 months. In fact, it worked so well, we bought 4 more (again, not from Amazon) and gave them as gifts to family and friends. Poor decision. The last one we gave died first. It didn't hold a charge well. When it finally did hold a charge & the motor was put under duress it simply stopped working. We exchanged it on behalf of our friends and gave them the new one. So far, no problems with the replacement. Low and behold, ours started doing the same thing not long thereafter! I returned it and didn't replace it. Interestingly, the store we bought them from no longer carries this item...

At Christmas, we visited family and received two more reports of the same problem. We took them back for return. Sorry guys, 3 of 5 no longer working within 6 months of purchase and one replaced because of defect!? AND, they weren't given the workout ours experienced. It appears it is either a defective motor problem or charging issue but absolutely would NOT recommend it. It's pretty embarrassing giving gifts that don't work after light use within the first 6 months! We are now considering the Brookstone as replacements...

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not pull cork out after only 4 bottles., February 18, 2010

Average cost to use: $10 per bottle!

I received the Waring Pro Professional Cordless Wine Opener WWO100 for Christmas 2 months ago and it no longer pulls the cork out. It was good for the first 4 bottles of wine and now, after trying to use it on the last 2 bottles, fails to work properly.

I have followed the instructions completely, fully charged the unit, held it at the proper level, and still the corkscrew stops halfway out of the bottle. It is frustrating as I now have to push the cork back into the bottle and use my old standby cork puller. I see that other consumers have the same problem with this unit and there have been reports that some stores no longer carry this device (due to complaints?).

I live 50 miles from the closest approved service dealers and find that returning it and picking it up would exhaust the cost of the unit in fuel expense--not to mention my time and effort. I am, needless to say, very disappointed with this appliance. Oh, and don't believe that the retail price is $99. You can find it just about anywhere for $40 to $50.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Gift, November 15, 2009
This review is from: Waring Pro WWO100PC Professional Cordless Wine Opener

I received this opener as a gift, after I have it for about a month, I am very happy with it, I wish I had this a long time ago.
It has everything you need to open your wine bottles. First you use the foil cutter which comes with the holder to free the top wrapping and then place the device over the cork and push the down arrow to pierce the cork, then you push the up button and it pulls the cork out of the bottle in one smooth operation.

It is nice looking sitting in its charging cradle in our kitchen, and I haven't had a problem with it. If you drink wine, this is the best investment in an wine opener that I know, high recommand, great gift item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waring pro Cordless Wine Opener, September 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Waring Pro WWO100PC Professional Cordless Wine Opener
This wine opener by Waring ( Pro WW0100) is the best one I've ever used. Once fully charged, it will open approx. 88 bottles of wine without having to be charged again.
I've have used others, but prefer this one. Foil cutter included.

I bought this two weeks ago, it is very easy to use, it feels durable, good quality. I had some fun to show off it to my guests last weekend.
I plan to buy more for gifts.

4.0 out of 5 stars I forgot to read the instructions, March 29, 2011

I forgot to read the instructions and it seems many other prople probably did to.

First off, looks good, works great, and I've only ever had to plus it in once in the last 4 months.

The weird part is that it doesnt act like other openers I've used. you hold it down while holding the bottle and keep waiting until its removed the cork all the way out, and then you press reverse to pop off the cork. (Intuition says to change direction when you get the screw all the way in).

Other than that quirk, I love it

got this for a gift for my husband for his birthday, or old rabbit broke, so we tried something electric. I really like the way this looks and the feel of it in your hand. It charges nicely and works well. We dont open lots of bottles at once, so we dont know how that works, but for a bottle a day (or less) it does the job just fine and looks nice on the counter the rest of the time. Friends who have seen us use it are impressed with how smoothly and effortlessly it works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, December 9, 2009

I've had my opener for a year, and it continues to perform perfectly. Just place over the bottle, press the down button for a couple of seconds, then lift. The cork remains on the corkscrew until you push the up button to release it. Once you open a bottle or two it's very simple. It seems to be durable (I've dropped it and it still works). The charge lasts a long time. I think I've only charged it twice in a year. I purchased mine at Costco for less than $30 but they no longer carry it. I want to buy a few of these for holiday gifts. I considered others that were less expensive, but they feel and look cheap. I think I will stick with the Waring.
