Most games require cheat codes before players get unlimited lives, but the gameplay of Wario Land 3 revolves around the concept of invincibility. Wario can't die, but the various creatures in the game can transform him temporarily into an alternate form. Get hit by a zombie, and you turn into a zombie until you are healed by light from a street lamp. Let the mad professor hit you with his potion and you become invisible, meaning security cameras can't see you, but you also can't see yourself to make precision jumps. Each alternate form has a specific strength and weakness, and figuring out how to use the transformations to solve puzzles is half of the game's fun. It may seem counterintuitive, but to succeed at this game you'll need to deliberately try to get hit by certain enemies at various points in the game. Is this the anti-Mario, or what?
The graphics are clear and colorful, and the animations for both Wario and the other denizens of the land he's trapped in are very fluid. The sound effects are so-so, but the strange soundtracks that play on each level are catchy. Considering the limitations of the Game Boy Color, it's nice to have a game that combines some of the best graphics the system can output with some of the most phenomenal gameplay ever developed for any title. --T. I have played Wario Land 1 and most of Wario Land 2. They were both fun and hard games at the same time. Wario 3 is, to me, much better then 1 and 2. Wario doesn't die instead when he gets hit he just turns into another kind of Wario. It is a very fun game. Also it is very exciting and full of many surpries that you will enjoy. The game uses a lot of thinking to win a level and to win the game, but when you have finished the game you will know that it payed off. I think that everyone needs this game for their gameboy. If you get it you won't stop playing it and you will be very happy with the way it turned out-at least I was. I hope that you can go out and buy Wario Land 3.

Challenging and worth it,

I beat Warioland one and two and loved them both but the third one is by far the best. It's frustrating at certain points but with a little perserverance anyone can get through it. The graphics are great, the story is great. It's just a ton of fun! However since it can be a bit confusing I would definitely recommend using a walkthrough your first time through it, believe me it won't take away from the fun or the challenge of playing this great game.

A Great Game,
By Patricia Chambers (Temple Hills, Maryland USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wario Land 3 (Video Game)
Wario Land 3 is a fun and challenging game. You might get mad at first because you must find a lot of treasures, but its actually fun trying to find all of them. This is a very addictive game and you won't want to stop playing it until you find all of the treasures. It's quite hard to find some of the treasures, but thats what make the game better than Wario Land 2. This game is definitely worth the money and I encourage all people who love challenging games to go buy this game.
