About the Author

Tasha began writing when she was a child and completed her first screenplay when she was just seven years old. She continued to write profusely throughout her childhood and into her adult years, winning awards for her short stories. Tasha originally hailed from the West Coast, graduated from the University of Alaska and made Anchorage her home where she practiced as an attorney. After moving to Hawaii, Tasha decided to turn her complete attention to her true love of writing fiction. She now writes from her home on Maui and routinely draws inspiration from the beautiful Hawaiian scenery. Tasha is a hopeless romantic, devoted to love and happy endings. Her novels are always steamy, sensual, adventurous and exciting. This was a whole lot of book for the price of $2.99, so kudo's to not only getting steamy romance, but also a story to go along with it.

We have our heroine Sara Aster is at a crux in her life, she does everything expected of her, following her parent's rules, dating the safe and steady boyfriend with limited to no passion between the two.

When Sara decides to go on a dig during her last sememster at the Univesity, and postposting her graduation, she almost regrets making the decision when she awakens in a room, her only memory is the night before and having to much to drink.

From this point on, our heroine has to face challenges set by the mysterious mists, challenges that are set to see if she is strong enough to face her deepest fears, to her deepest desires, as other humans have failed in the past, the black mist finds a great opponent in his human Sara, especially when he learns that her soul mate is his nemenis Warlord Arystan.

The passion ignited between Sara and Arystan is like moth to a flame, they ignite from the first meeting.

Arystan is a man who takes what he wants, he does not have feelings for women, he uses them as a vessel for his own pleasure and takes at will, does not dwell on the feelings of the women he uses... that is until he meets Sara, you begin to see the Warlord shift from a beast, to a man when his feelings begin to surface at the minstrations of the pale female who calls to his heart, something he's never experienced, and while it angers him to have these feelings, he isn't willing to let her go.

4.5 STARS

I believe this is the author's first book and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The fact that it's a new author and there were no reviews yet, I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the chance. I thought it would have been more of mythology kind of read, but either way I loved it. My eyes were glued to my book as the story unfolds. I would say the story is a mix of Paranormal, Time Travel, Historical, and Erotica with a bit of Contemporary if that makes sense.

Sara was with her friends having a night out when she awoken in the stone room. Her only way of escape is to overcome her deepest fears and resist her desires to stay alive. This is shown to her with the pool of desire and fear. Sara is then found and taken to a distant land not of her time as a slave. She is then chosen as a slave to service the warlord, Arystan, the leader of his clan. By this point, Sara remembers her name but not where she is from. Arystan, is a hard warrior who has a defense built up towards anyone. He himself knows that his use of women is to just take from them, then discard them. He starts to fall for Sara bit by bit while trying to defeat his enemy Bayuan in battle. In time, all will be reveal with Bayuan, Sara and Arystan.

I have to admit, while reading the beginning I didn't know where the story was taking me. I debated if I should stop reading. However, as I got into the story I became more engaged. I think for me personally my excitement begun when Sara was captured and her interaction began with Arystan. I enjoyed their sexual encounters, which is very graphic. I enjoyed so many parts to the story and it's storylines. Rainura was a great addition half way through the book.

I picked this book up when it was offered as a kindle freebie about a week ago. I wasn't really sure what to expect from it, but I was soon caught up in the mystery of it, that kind of paranormal feel of otherworldly and powerful forces at play. Add in some time travel, some sexy capture theme; combine all that with a dark and delicious hero, and I was really enjoying this story. I read it in one afternoon, unable to put it down until I found out how exactly this hero would keep his woman with him forever.

This hero is my kind of man: harsh, even barbarian, dominating and forceful, dark and not perfect. He's a brutal warlord, so he's not going to be politically correct and ask if he may please hold your hand. No, his hand will find its way under your skirt, whether you gave persmission or not. You just might find your clothes ripped off, too. He is from a time when men dominated and women were captured and thrown over shoulders, and then onto beds, or in this case, furs. He's hot and he's raw, not polished or smooth, just all rugged male.

The sex was completely erotic, with the subjugation and domination I love. Arystan is animalistic in his endeavors, pounding away hard, even licking and biting during sex. It's forceful and powerful, and so hot to me. I have a kinky soft spot for forced submission and coercion, and to see Sara at his mercy, Sara the new sex slave added to the camp, and soon to be the warlord's pick for the night, that was a turn-on to read. If you're into reading forced submission/forced seduction and that whole captured sex slave thing, which I personally love, you'll enjoy Arystan taking control of Sara, having her because he wanted her and it was his right.

As for the heroine, although captured and forced, Sara is strong in her own way.
